Cleaning agents

I had a captian tell me of a cleaning product called Slimey Grimey, for cleaning off the waterline stains. Just mix it up, spray it on and rinse it off.

I tried it and it works. My question; does anyone have any feedback as to negatives on this product?

After I rinsed it, I let it dry and sprayed water back on the area and it appears my polish is still on the fiberglass. So, if no one knows of negatives...I think it's a great product.

one of the local marinas on the river uses it for end of year bottom cleaning of it's customers boats, they get it by the barrel, mix with hot water and pressure wash. a much safer product than the usual muratic acid most marinas use. they don't have any negative views about it. i use it for cleaning my triumph cc, it was reccomended by the company i purchased it from.

Its a very expensive mild acid. You can buy something like The Works bath cleaner which is oxcalic acid for about one 1/10 the cost and its works great. Barkeepers friend, Rust Aid, etc etc are all very effective and inexpensive.
