Trim Pump Troubleshooting

Now I just get a click in each direction of the switch.

That's a good thing. It means that the solenoids are getting power from the switch. Now the only thing to find out is why the motor isn't getting power. Could be a bad fuse, bad connection or bad solenoid. Could be a bad motor, but it would probably fail in only one direction first.

Thanks - I'll try cleaning all the connections and see if that helps. It's in the back of the bilge and tends to get wet, so something's probably corroded.

I'm just hoping it's not the motor!

Probably not the motor. They get such little use and they're sealed up pretty good. My bet is a loose connection. Unfortunately most boat builders bury the trim pump where you can't get to it. I've seen 'em put inside a sealed off bulkhead. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes.
