Garnib 4000/5000 weather setup help

I have the XMSR radio working through it. Having a hard time with the weather. XM telling me that it is activated, but all I see is that spinning symbol up top. Wondering if it is a different ID for radio and for weather?

The audio and weather have 2 separate radio ID's. Both need to be activated with XM.

You should be able to navigate to one of the menu screens, (I forget which one) and it should display the level of the weather that is active. On mine is shows the Fisherman. The other thing is to make sure all the weather settings are enabled. On my 3210, each individual setting needs to be configured for the range. The range can be off, auto or preset to a distance. I never really bothered to figure out what the range selections do, I just keep mine it auto.

I know. Day after the boat was splashed I had major wrist surgery. Doc does not even want me on the boat for 6-8 weeks. KILLING ME. Will get down there later this week. New boat, in the water for 3 weeks, 7 hours. (

Just got the weather working on my new 4212. Called the XM people the night before and had it activated. Went down the next day and fired it up for 1 1/2 hours and had nothing. Called XM, they then informed me I had a window of three hours to fire it up or it would deactivate. They did a refresh, I turned it on and about 45 minutes latter everything worked. So make sure you turn your unit on within 3 hours of activation.

Had a "refresher signal" sent. No dice again. Just the small spinning thing up top. Not sure what else I can do. Tried every level. Killing me!

Had the same problem. I found that the weather takes about 3-4 mins to come up on the screen after the unit is first on. I pick weather/precip and go do something for a few minutes. When I come back the rain and clouds (if selected) are on the screen.
