Ray C 120 Autopilot

Last trip out my autopilot blew a 5 amp fuse immediately. Back home, I tried 2 new fuses but immediately blew them as well. The autopilot had been working fine up until this episode. The autopilot is a Ray ST 6002S1 outboard system. The system was installed professionally a little over 2 years ago.

I am looking for any troubleshooting suggestions. Thanks.

You may have found your problem by now but I would start with tracing the hot wire from the fuse to the unit, sounds like there is a short in that wire, if not then you have much more serious problem, if that is the case I am as far as I can go with help on this.

Thanks, the problem turned out to be a smaller fuse than needed. Needed a 20 amp. All is well now!

Funny as this may sound, I had accidently installed a 5 amp fuse as well and made lots of trips before I discovered by mistake I hade installed the wrong fuse...the 5 amp fuse never blew....i also did go to the proper 20 amp fuse.
