Swimming pool help

Recommended Posts

Had a similar issue about 4 years ago. The pool vacumn had gradually thinned the edges where it constantly ran. I got three companies to come around and give me different options to repair.

Ended up taking their consistent recommendation and emptying the pool to resurface with Marcite.

Thanks, am sort of in process with people looking at it right now. The cracks were caused by the clay soil falling away during the dry part of August and people using the diving board a little to enthusiastically. I believe they have now widened and deepened as much as they every will and it's time for a better fix than high grade caulk---just trying to figure what that fix is.

Anyone ever heard of a company called Sani-tred out of Indiana? So far they sound like they have the cure if all they present online and via phone can be verified.

What I had found is that those pools need resurfacing every 9-10 years.I really don't know that myself. At this time,I'm looking into a fiberglass pool. Now only if I can get the price down somewhat. 35 grand for another hole in the ground? I do have a 2 acre fish pond in my backyard and told the wife to swim there. That flew like a load of crap. The wife wants a pool bad,but also I want another boat that I been eyeing. Now that Billy Freemen is building his boats out of fiberglass, I want one bad!

I just got finished researching all of my options on my pool. I am by no means a pool expert, but it doesn't seem like it will be hard to patch your problem area. Your pool holds a tremendous amount of weight. It doesn't seem like your diving board would be causing the cracking. It seems like the weight of the water would be the culprit. From a construction standpoint I would take an air chisel and hammer out enough of the concrete to put a piece of #4 rebar tying the concrete on each side of the crack together. After you do that set the pieces of number 4 with epoxy and fill it all in with concrete. After the concrete sets up put fresh gunite over it and fill her up?
