  1. I have a recall notice on my '02 7.3 diesel. My regular mechanic said this should be done soon, I just have not made it to dealership yet! Thanks for the reminder!
  2. I have lowered the price to $17,900 and wanted to post here before the change hits boattrader. Thanks!
  3. Hi Andrea - Can you work on Progressive now? Unfortunately we had another incident in our area that Auto-tether could have possibly saved a life. Coast Guard suspends search for missing boater Wednesday, August 19, 2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Portus has been missing for three days. PASCO COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The Coast Guard has suspended its search for missing boater Mark Portus. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will continue searching Thursday. Earlier Wednesday Portus' brother offered a $20,000 reward if someone is able to find him alive. Mark Portus went fishing Monday morning and never returned. The search continued Wednesday for the third day. "We're going to make sure we put enough effort into this as we can," said Lt. Grant Burton with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. "The family deserves that. That's what we're going to do." Portus' boat was found on a Sandbar north of Anclote Key with the motor still running. He was wearing a light blue shirt and jean shorts so search crews are looking for that color in the water. The search area has also been expanded. Burton says weather conditions have been on their side so far. "The sun is good," he said. "The clarity is pretty good so I feel like we can cover a pretty good amount of area." The Coast Guard is leading the search and rescue operation. "The longer it takes to find him the longer he's out there," Burton said. "So we want to end this search as quickly as possible by finding him." Portus' brother was also out on the water searching Wednesday.
  4. "not slick when properly applied!" - That is the key. I did not rinse a section properly and strained my knee and ankle while reaching over the gunwale docking. Not wearing proper footwear probably added to that slip up I still use it and really enjoy how it speeds clean-up at the end of the day. I also use it on all the brite work. Free Samples - thanks Wiley
  5. I am very fortunate to have a friend who has a RV/Boat storage facility that was built to withstand 130mph winds. I don't keep my boat there all the time but I have an arrangrement with him that if a storm is approaching he saves me a space. This could be a great option for trailer boaters. Rent at some places can be expensive but you maybe be able to work out a short term arrangement.
  6. I have loved Intrepids for years but when we started searching for "our" needs the layout was never quite right and we could not afford to have them build one new, so we choose a used Jupiter 31 FS and have been very happy. I "heard it on the docks" recently and I'm not sure if it has been mentioned on Reel Boating anywhere, John Michel has left Intrepid. I searched the web and this is the only article I could find, although there are many posts, they all say the same thing. Intrepid Power Boats Founder John Michel Plots New Course Fri Jun 26, 2009 5:27pm EDT TAMPA, Fla.--(Business Wire)-- For more than 26 years Intrepid`s founder and president, John Michel, has fostered his one-of-a-kind, one-at-a-time approach to semi-custom boat building and customer support, building the Intrepid brand into one of the most revered in the industry. Even in challenging economic times, Largo, Fla.-based Intrepid Power Boats continues to employ 250 workers and has a 24-month waiting list. "Michel did everything `wrong` from what many textbooks would call `good business`," said Boating Magazine`s senior technical editor Kevin Falvey, "But he remains a winner even in these disastrous times. The MBA`s would have had him expand and homogenize, the marketing gurus would have suggested that pleasure boaters wouldn`t buy outboards or stepped hulls, the consultants would have said he needed a dealer network, but to all of them, John Michel`s message is this: Building boats to a standard of excellence, rather than to a price point or formula, is a recipe for success even in the worst of times." Michel sold a majority stake in the company two and a half years ago to a New England-based private equity firm. Recent discussions revealed significant philosophical differences in the direction that the company needs to take. Therefore Intrepid`s founder and president has decided to chart new waters.
  7. We get it on Brighthouse in the Tampabay Area. I watched a few things since I discovered it earlier this year. Picture quality is usually outstanding.
  8. I have been putting the keys over the throttles and the "system" has worked well until last week. We had been lobstering all day and not using the ladder at all since everyone had fins and could easily get up on the Armstrong bracket. Before heading home, several crew members jumped in the water to cool off, one of which used the ladder and did not annouce it! It's amazing how little affect the trim tabs have on the boat when you leave the "ladder tab" down I'm thinking of adding a sign to the ladder reminding users to announce that it is down. What do you do???
  9. I thought the 1st 5000 members got to stay at Wiley's place each year I hope to make it down this year, fortunately my brother has an extra room at his place!
  10. I recently was referencing a post from reel boating in a FS Forum thread and discovered that if you type in "Reelboating.com" the post will automaically read ".com". I was just trying to point a fellow boater to some information regarding his question that I thought would be helpful. Wiley sure must have PO'd a lot people
  11. New Price = $18,700 Correction = Fuel burn is about 4 gal/hr. I would also consider a trade for either a F250 4x4 diesel crew cab or a Scion XB.
  12. I need to replace the brakes on my trailer. Service guy is suggesting either UFP or Kodiak. What has been your experience with these 2 brands. Thanks!
  13. Welder - somehow I missed your post! It burns about 5 gals/hr at a 25MPH cruise. Fuel cost has never been a concern for me with this boat!
  14. I have been real happy with the 2 E-searider's I purchased last year. Went with the tear drop longnecks. See link: http://www.e-searider.com/
  15. Maybe the state will put a bounty out on the lizards and you can make some $$$$! You mentioned owls, have you seen the movie "Hoot" or read Carl Hiaasen's young reader book by the same name? Good luck on the house purchase.
  16. Interesting article on Cape Coral in Sunday's St.Pete Times - http://www.tampabay.com/news/environment/w...icle1011745.ece
  17. Can't help you with marinas down that way, I am in the Tampa Bay Area. You might want to ask on the Florida Sportsman SW FL board - http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zeroforum?id=11
  18. We bought wire free standing racks similar to this http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores...0474+1475+90401 and also the "wheel kits". This allows us to move the stuff around the garage as needed. Holiday stuff gets put the fixed wall shelves, more frequently used stuff goes on the rolling racks. We also keep a rack to put future garage sale stuff on. It working well for us.
  19. Here is a link to the regulations - http://www.myfwc.com/RULESANDREGS/SaltwaterRules_index.htm I saw in the paper recently that SW Fla was one of the most under valued real estate markets now, quite a change from a couple of years ago! I wouldn't limit yourself to just Cape Coral. Anywhere from Tampa Bay south to Naples is pretty much the same.
  20. This time of year - http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
  21. Here is a good post from the FS Forum on doing your own F250 service. http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/thread?id=763946
