  1. I run 100% synthetic oil in my four strokes and my 2 stroke engines. They hold up better than bean oil imho
  2. looks fine to me .thanks for all your hard work Wiley
  3. Check all the cylnders as suggested above for compression. I bet you find the knocking cylnder doing the compression check. If you have a problem with just one cylnder you can just rebuild it. Many people are against that saying while it's torn down do all of them.(That's what i would do if I were going to keep it.)Another option would be if you had a friend with a borescope and check all the cylnders.good luck
  4. happy Bday Hotspot...just a little late
  5. Also try amazon for the Porter-Cable gravity feed HVLP gun. It's a very good gun for under 100 dollars. I have 2 of them and been well pleased. I tend to stay away from Harbor frieght as i have had problem with their tools. good luck
  6. Well built boat with a very good fit and finish. IMHO the 262 is an improvement over the 260 and the wetness issues have been addressed with the 262. good luck
  7. for power i went with a suzuki df300. i got a garmin 4210, gsd 22, b164 for the chartplotter and sounder. i got a furuno gp 32 for another gps and a ghp 10 for the autopilot. as the pics keep coming, i'll keep adding em. thanks! Nice boat !!
  8. 250 THE OLD Sunbird/Hydra-sport plant is now Where Sea Hunt builds their boats. The owner of Sea Hunt ??? The original owner of Sunbird (he sold out to OMC). Funny how things comeback around
  9. it is good to have a site where you can discuss topics without having the usual suspects come in an bash the product your talkng about. Many times these "bashers" have hidden agendas such as being reps, salemen or dealers for a competing product that hide behind a computor'
  10. I have a yamaha 115 four stroke with 370 hrs.I have had the oil issue(where it make oil) and i have to have a valve job done. All repairs were made under warranty. The oil issue was taken care of with no problem but the valve issue was like getting yamaha to give up their last valve. It took 4 months to get the valve issue rectified. I used to own a 4 stroke Suzuki 140. put over 120 hrs on it before trading it for something else.I never had a problem with it
  11. RIP Beachnut and sorry for your loss Wiley. I lost my dog of 14 years earlier this year and I still miss her.

  13. sad to see but they were not the first nor will they be the last
  14. I think there will be more of this in the coming year
  15. you could go with twin 130 evinrude e-tecs or 140 fourstroke suzuki's. being an older boat near it's hp limit also be carefull of the wieght on the back of your boat. twin 150 4 strokes are alot more weight than twn 130 2 stroke yamaha's
  16. the 175 e-tec will get 25 to 35 % better on fuel than you are getting now and if you use the xd-100 oil and setting 30 to 50 % better on oil. if propped right you should get 3 to 5 mph faster
