I rarely go alone, but I'm planing another use for the autotether... I'm starting to realize that my almost 3 YO daughter feels more comfortable on the boat as she get older. We tried, and succeeded, to teach her since she was a baby, that theres nothing to fear when on the boat if she follows the rules. She does follow them (for now) but I'm sure that she is not mature enough to know why she is following them which can lead lead to temptation to do something stupid and dangerous. Well.. now she is completely FEARLESS of the boat, which in some way is good but in other way makes me uncomfortable. My worst nightmare is to be driving the boat, and my daughter (or other of our guest's kid) going overboard without anybody realizing of it... I know it's stupid, but I would not forgive myself if it ever happens!!! I'm planing to attach one of the remotes to their pfd, just in case.....

Hey thanks everybody, very good info.... Chris, let me make sure I understand correctly.... If I read it right, this toilet needs to be connected to a water supply source that can provide 31/2 gal per minute, so I will have to run a hose from my wash down pump to feed the head. Also another hose from my fresh water tank, if I want this capability and a Y valve to chose which one I'm using to flush the head. The toilet has its own macerator pump to pull the "stuff" to the tank, but I will need another one to pull it from the tank to the outside. Am I right??? I know that for waste disposal at the dock they have some kind of vacuum, but I will still need the macerator for when I want to discharge waste directly into the ocean. If I assume correctly, thats the pump that needs to be secure to avoid accidental activation on prohibited areas. I will also need another Y valve between the tank, the ocean discharge, and the deck fitting for dock disposal. Any recommendation on the macerator pump between the toilet and the ocean??? brand??? type??? Any recommendation for the Y valve?? any specific brand?? Thanks guys, really appreciate the help

OK, I'm lost... Need help putting my head system togheter.... The only thing I already have is a Jabsco QuietFlush electric Marine head... I assume that thats the macerator pump, that will pull the residues to the tank. Am' I right???. I need advise over: Holding tank (type, brand any recommendation???) water pump for flushing (type, GPH, PSI, brand any recomendation???) 3 way valve (type, brand any recommendation???) vent odor filter (type, brand any recommendation???) How thick should be the Hose bringign sea water to the water pump???3/4?? 1 inch?? The head came with certain type switch panel. seems to have a rocker switch to flush water in to the bowl, and the other one is a double position rocker switch that flush water on the first position and activates the macerator on the second position. I've been told that some places, requires you to be able to "lock" your Y valve on the Holding tank position, or having a key switch to avoid accidental discharge on the wrong area.... what can you say about this. I'm totally ignorant about this matter, so any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I have a unit that I'm ready to install, but it's kind of old, and do not know how reliable will be.... I do not want to have to do the work twice.. Hey Chris!!! nice to know.... Looking for something well maintained and fairly new, between 5k BTU to 12K BTU, I just lost a very good one on THaT other forum, from 2004, 12kBTU, with digital display and everything for 500 bucks... looking on that range. If you guys know of anything please let me know... I will appreciate it. Thanks!!!

The boat you are seeing on my signature was taken some weeks ago after the 2nd rebuild... I found an awesome BRP tech dealer on cape Canaveral, he helped me to get a pair of 250's. I bought the engines way before the boat was complete, but didn't install them until it was at least 90%. I think that at that time the 300HP's were not out yet, there was only talking about them but that was it. Either way, never contemplate the idea to go higher on HP. Too many issues to sort, budget, weight, propping, etc... too many risks... I knew by experience that with the 225 Fitch's it was just about enough power, but with the 250 the boat handles PERFECT, no need to get more problems. Also, assuming that the transom rating could take the weight of the engines and the HP, I'm almost positive that it will seat TOO low on the tail... Thanks everybody for the kind comments. This boat has been an awesome experience and learning possibility in my life. I hope that you guys enjoy the pictures, as much as I enjoyed working on the boat and using it... If I could help anybody with my knowledge on this hull or ideas to do thing to the boat... just ask, will be more than willing to help..

Like everybody said last time... If they really wanted, nothing will stop them, so I'm just making it less desirable by adding plain view, hard to bypass deterrants, and then some more not in plain view... I can tell you that I went over every single inch of that boat, and it has plenty of places to hide stuff I guess that my chances of the thieves getteing caugth in the process are really high, but if not, the chances of getting them soon after are most likely guaranted.

Sorry guys that it took me so long to be back on board but it has been crazy the las 2 weeks at the office. There was a thread on THaT other site that I didn't want to hijack with my crap, so i decided to start a new one here, kind of a "look at my project/rebuild boat" thread... I remember when I first got in THaT other forum asking about the boat that I just bought asking about Scarab owners, chris was one of the few around. Today judging by the other thread there is plenty of guys to exchange ideas and knowledge about this hull!!!! In my personal opinion the hull is perfect for the south FL waters....it fit my family needs perfectly. Here is my little story. I found the hull on ebay, while I was at a conference in Tampa. The guy wanted to make the perfect fishing machine so this is what he did. So since we bought it, until we got it down here was like 2 months. Even the SS screws… We used the opportunity to make some changes to the boat. for example the oversized sink and live well was removed and converted to storage and stern bench. The tricky part was the fish box hatch between the console and the cabin. DAMN!!! thats serious $$$$... I overdid it with mine because I got a ebay deal that it was stupidly good at that time. I was suposed to do good with a V700 but, got a V2. That may help if you do not want to cleat the line... Get something ballsier than what you need, but either way I do not think that you are going to get away for ever. If you do not cleat the line sooner or later you will loose the gears on the windlass. Either way I crawl to the bow every time to cleat the line since I do not want to go thru the pain of having to re- install that frivking thing again.

It's time for a new camera, but not drunk..... I found out that as soon as you cancel the flash the camera stays open longer, making thing shakier....but if I leave the flash on, you can not apreciate the UWL The one in my sig pic, was taken with a phone, believe it or not

Hey Chris, I will try to find out if I can do the with my camera.. the one that we use more often is a coolpix something 8 or 10 MP.... I have an olympus much older, bulkier, 5MP that I keep mainly because I have the underwater housing. I'm sure that with that one I can adjust the aperture... I'll give it a try.

the "kerno touch" in my boat. I can proudly say that knew nothing about hydraulic steering before this rebuilt, until I got kerno. Now, the little I know, I know it right... Kerno AWESOME advise on that K6... the BEST cylinder design I've ever seen, you were right on everything... I have not forget about your suggestion on the Power assist, it is on my wish list Seem that I can't post more pictures on this thread.. I reached my 500K limit... I'll go with the link way

What it keeps bothering me is that all the pictures are on the same album over THT, but if I'm not logged over there they don't show....EXCEPT for one and is not always the same one. The first time I noticed this the only picture I could see was the one with the chicks, but Ccraft can't see that, but instead he sees the picture with the UL during the day.... very weird.... bottom line, do not host your pictures at the other site.

Hey Chris could you post some of the other pictures, I PMed Wiley to edit my original post to remove the links and attach the pictures but he may be having some drinks looking at the inlet!!! Next weekend I'll be on Key west so I will take lots of pictures of the lights for you....like you said the ones I took last weekend do not even do justice... the crappy camera and my lousy photographic abilities do not even reflect how good the light are. I may even try to take one with my underwater housing!!! if the water is not too cold

Please do not take this personally, mean not disrespect at all, but allow me to disagree...common sense is not that common anymore... Again... you or the owner of the site on this case, are more than welcome to do whatever you want on your site, but deleting a post of a guy trying to help another fellow boater is wrong IN MY OPINION. Siggi: I found out that THT has some kind of link protection so people does not do what we were doing... it basically block the pictures if the users is not loged in... I've started using the attach option instead of linking.. Fishinspot: I used 1/2 inche starboard. I was adviced to go with 3/4 but I thought that it was too much and too heavy. I used Screws to hold it to the console wall. For the top part I used some very nice SS super flat hurricane shutter 1/4 screws/nuts. I place them very close to one of the T-Top horizontal pipes so it's varely visible. The bottom ones I screw them right on the step on the cosole were the T-top sits. Chris: Maybe the CHICKS were the reason that you didn't pay attention to my rig..... Triuphrick: No problem buddy, I knew that you were pulling my balls.... I know what you mean about how dangerous is to hang on the bow. Once, my wife, accidentally hit the throtle too hard and I almost go over.... lot of yelling after that..... Definitly... as soon as we are back from the keys we have to do the fire thing with some good argentinian grilled churrascos!!!!! I always wondered what was that redish reflex, but always thougth it was some kind of sunset weird effect...
