  1. My dad had a Sailbote log back 20 years ago and I aways enjoyed reading it. This was great adventure and the pics make it even better. Thanks for sharing.
  2. We put a spread out a few times and trolled, without any luck. Really wanted the 2 guys that had not done any offshore stuff to get a Wahoo or Dolphin. What we came for though Could have water skied at 50 Miles out on Sunday Came in pass racing daylight and got pulled over by the Marine Patrol. Donzi with Optimaxes shadowed us for 3-4 miles. We were running ~59 Mph and he was slowly falling back. We saw him and continued until he hit his blue lights. Pulled all of our fish out and checked all safety gear. They were very friendly but took forever. They had a cooler full of fish they had confiscated throughout the day. They give this to the homeless shelter.
  3. My buddy and I took his boat to my Dad's place outside Pensacola in back October for a quick Red Snapper run. 3 more came down from ATL and we fished 6 guys. We caught a nice mess of B-liners, Scamp, Red Snapper (including a 21.96 pounder), trigger, king (bottom fishing). We got broke off hard 2 times at a Red Snapper Hole and 30 Secs later a 8-9FT Tiger Shark comes swimming by 10 from the boat. Really neat to see this fish just cruising by. The 5500 really makes towing stress free. Coke add - at Gulf Breeze Launch Kayak fishing at the bay bridge - this guy had a large fish - looked like a King? Grady Parking Only! JK Peg Legs for Lunch Cool Night Shot
  4. The beach The launch ramp 1/2 Ton Diesel Chevy This was my first time to Aruba. It was very friendly and relaxing.
  5. Been meaning to post these, I saw Wiley's post about lurking yesterday and thought you guys may enjoy. Took the Family to Aruba for some R&R for Thanksgiving. Lots of old Makos and Mckee Crafts. Some of these boats are kept on mooring just off the beach, but most are lauched every morning off of the beach. Marina from the plane All of these boats get beached in the surf for pick-up and drop-off constantly Overloaded? A few that actually fish More - Ski, Tube, and Transport Boats From the Hotel Balcony
  6. Thank you for the pics. So far the best pics on the Web.
  7. Anyone notice that the 3 state boats all have different brands of modern power?
  8. No oil, just white sand, clear water, and some boats more later
  9. Walked around the tip of Pensacola Beach (Fort Pickens) today and saw zero oil. The water and beach are just as normal (incredibly beautiful). I took some pics of some boats coming in the pass. Quite a few LE and CG boats. I will post these in the photo section tonight. We also stopped in Jimmy Buffett's new Hotel, Margaritaville and had a Landshark out by the pool. It is a nice place with friendly staff.
  10. This is childish, irresponsible, and exactly what I wish I could have been doing last weekend. It is still cold as sh!t in the ATL. We will take the trip 34CV to the lake this weekend and pretend that it is warm and we are heading Offshore (or running down the ICW). Is it Summer yet??? I think Prop had the situation in control and no one will ever say, "that was a boring boat ride..."
  11. 240, It's on espn 360 http://espn.go.com/broadband/espn360/player?gameId=8210&sportCode=OD
  12. 3 of the top 10 fished 1 cove over from the lauch ramp. This is Mike Iaconelli
  13. Still working on my video techniques. This is Day 3 Blast Off from Sunday. SHO Yamaha 250 idling out
  14. Very nice! Now give us the details (Power, Electronics, Etc).
  15. I am not a bass fisherman but a buddy is. I wanted to see it in person since it was relatively close. Got to ride the new SHO Yamaha. It is the real deal. Midrange acceleration is phenomenal! Here are a few pics, I will put up some more pics and video later
  16. Not as many Saltwater boat as in years past, but here are some pics of what was there and some other random boats Disclosure: I am the Sailfish and Sundance Dealer This is primarily a Bowrider, Ski Boat, and Pontoon Show (I left out most of these pics) Highlights - Very good traffic Saturday and Sunday - Lots of buyers (last year people were looking for next year, this year people wanting a boat for this season), Ranger Tugs-I want a boat like this in 25 years, The Blackwood - not practical for me, but really cool, Manitou's SES SHP Pontoon - dozens of people said best feature in show (remember, we are 5+ hours from the salt), Yamaha's new SHO outboards
  17. In bass boat form: http://www.yamahagamechanger.com/
  18. I am under the impression that Yamaha will introduce a new line of 4-strokes to replace their VMAX or "bass engines" this fall. All of Yamahas HPDIs are 2-star. Jan 1, 2010 all Yamahas will be 3-star. I hope these engines will compare in weight and performance. A 200 inline 4 (3.0 liter) would seem like a good idea?
  19. OK - my wife is addicted to this show - so I watch and read the boating forums. The show is based in Miami and he has a boat. It is driving me nuts that in one scene he is in a Century CC with white painted Yamahas and the next a bracketed boat (old school Contender??)with Evinrude DIs (supposed to be the same boat). But is cool to see some boats on TV.
  20. This one is great tracking Hurricanes http://www.bearpawsweather.com/
  21. I really enjoy the photo section - so I am adding some from last summer - hope take some more soon!
