The mother did call me a few days later all apologetic etc. She said junior would be coming by to personally apologize....well junior has not shown his face around here at all. ....Actually the mother made an odd comment that she thought junior was too drunk to drive and speculated that one of the other minions was really responsible but bolted before the cops got their leaving Junior to take the fall. I personally dont see it. I submitted a claim to the kids ins company as my own company does security fence work for the navy so I got my foreman up the next day and we finished rebuilt the fence. The funny part was the claims agent asked me if I was qualified I replied that my company built a 14000 ft electric fence at GTMO she said that was good enough for her. LOL

Unfortunately Welder you're right. My wife is a middle school teacher she hear's the "not my angel" way too much. I am calling the mother today to give here my bill of $850.00. I may give them a break if the commit their son to paint the fence. I let yall know the responce albeit I pretty much know where this is going unfortunately

You know whats interesting? It seems that the good kids I know are like hyper squeakey clean. church quire, straight A students athletes etc. the kind of kids that stress out over a B+. It seems to be a shortage of the middle of the road kids like me and fishnutz that did stupid things but were generally decent kids. I mean my brothers kids any parent would be proud. But for cryin out loud their nerds LOL!! I guess I am just old and out of touch LOL.

Wife and I were alseep last night at 2:30 am when the golden retriever sound the alarm. I jump up and find a nice new shiney Z71 PU in my back yard minus about 50 ft of my privacy fence The LEO's are here in 2 seconds. turns out a 16 year kid drunks as a skunk barely could walk winds up in our back yard. The mother shows up shocked that her son could do such a thing. She later concedes that her son has been in some sort of trouble once before. the LEO's give him a sobreity test and promptly fails. Then the step dad shows up and he can't beleive the boy has done such a thing. He then protests his arrests the LEO's inform him that for DUI's its SOP to arrest. The Dad comments" He was drinking??" LEO replies thats what we do is put drunk drivers in jail Times have changed since I was growing up in the big 80's. My old man would've had me preferring jail as opposed to his justice. I asked my Dad today what he would've done and he said do you really have to ask..LOL I would have been down here with my Dad rebuilding the fence once i was out of the klink. That would've been only the start for me. The mother was appologetic and said she would make restitution this AM. Of course no call this am or afternoon they also live a street over from me. So I roust up my foreman that works for me and we knock it out after documenting everything. They will get a bill from me tomorrow for the repairs. Why would a parent let a 16 child behind the wheel of a 35k vehicle at 2am in the morning which is past the county enforced curfew?? what ever happened to kids driving an older model vehicle so they can learn to respect what they have. If I had kids they would learn what it takes to earn a dollar be it work or grades. That how I was raised I do know alot a of good kids in the hood as well but their parents are centered and demand excellence from their kids. There seems to be too much of this "not my angel" crowd around these days. Am i off base here? what do the parents on here think. Someone re instill my faith in todays youth

It doesn't matter if you are going 1 mile or 100 you need to have the proper gear and know the drill ahead of time. I fished a 100 miles off shore last Sunday in my old Pursuit diesel express and even though I keep everything in top mechanical shape its very comforting having an EPRIRB and a life raft that up to date along with flare etc. I have a regular crew that knows the drill but always take the time to give the new guy safety brief before departing. One of the things I enjoy the most about long range fishing is the mechanical challenge of making everthing work correctly and having no problems we have been very fortunate over the years and attribute the luck to solid prep work before hand. it seems when I am fishing on a friends boat wondering if the guy has his ducks in row for safety even though the boat might be newer and faster than mine and his gear is in top shape..../anything can happen at anytime a good prep work before hand can mean life or death

quick wrap up will add pics tomorrow. Left Manatee pocket at 4:00am arrived on scene after daylight. We found the first pack of birds around 55 miles E,NE of St Lucie inlet. We had no problem finding birds or boats in 4 years of fishing the other side of the gulfstream I have never seen so many boats it was almost as bad as fishing a hot dolphin bite right palm beach. We picked at em for a bit then I picked up and ran farther east about 20miles and found more birds and boats and tuna. We hit 5 small YFT 11 blackfin and and one mack daddy about 65 lbs or so. We started back around 2:30 as we were running back home I commented to my crew it would be nice to have one of those giant go fast CC and haul ass. My crew replied that how the hell can we mix drinks and eat sushi while launching of waves at 40 mph..LOL Gulf stream current was a ###### crossing back home with south wind chop and ripping current made for a long ride home. My volvo diesels continue to impress me with their relibility I ran the motors for a solid 14 hours they just hum like the ever ready bunny. We aint fast we aint stylish but we're steady, Conchy Shel Style!

I went north east of the corner yesterday from Stuart did pretty decent. The YFT's are here for sure.

I msy be over around the same time. High speed wahoo not so much. Tuna could be hot but you will have to run from west end south east in the NW providence channel or north of the corner which is a haul from WE. I have had good success YFT fishing out of Lucaya. If you are tagreting YFT I would do Lucya or Grand Cay in the north. If you have family and non fisherman then Lucaya is the best. if you guys are hard core then do Rosie's on Grand Cay and fish north of Grand 20-50 miles and should find the birds. We have hammered the YFT out of Lucaya in some trips we were only 7 miles out! Either way its all fun good luck!

I went down to Port everglades the other day and strolled right in with my expired GTMO badge ...go figure

I did a quick cruise through the boat show yesterday and noticed it was not very crowded and fewer booths this year. The one question I have for all the experts here is on center consoles. There seemed to be about 10-12 CC mfg's all making the same large CC's 30-35 albeit they are obviously not the same with different molds etc. but none the less the same baisic concept. I am amazed that these mfg's can still survive with boat purchases in the tank and new used boats at such a great deal right now??? However the typical "hood ornaments" were stunning as usual told ya it was a meaningless observation
