  1. At Bertram Yachts we always brushed some Vaseline on top of every connector, batteries terminals, grounds, etc. Also Corrotion-X is excelent.

    Your battery swithces should be covered, in an enclosure if possible or at least 12" from the boat floor.

    In your case it sounds water must be getting to it.

    That is correct. Water was leaking around the seal under the seat that is protecting the batteries. I am going to replace the seal when I replace the switch.
