  1. Thanks Wiley for exposing us to some of your "unprofessionalism"..... Good honest description of the hassels of sharing your site and just hoping to help a few needy souls. It's OK if they don't know what they are missing...
  2. There have been several posts about these leaks lately. Since I just sold my boat with a 150 2 stroke, I had a similar problem. It seems when tilted forward it leaks. The cap on the oil tank inside the housing is not a tight fit. I put a zip tie around mine to tighten it up and stopped the leak. The color difference could be anything the oil is picking up on it's path out of the housing...good luck!
  3. I have a 2002 KeyWest 2300 WA. I am looking to buy the optional transom seat. If you have one for sale, contact me. Thanks, Rick
  4. I have an 18v Dewalt zip saw for cutting out boxes in drywall that I have used for a number of other things and was wondering if this might be appropriate to use to flush mount my vhf and stereo radios? Anyone try it and had any success in fiberglass? Thanks, Rick
  5. Headed out early this AM to the Pinellas reef. Lots of action with both live/dead bait. Had a huge 40' whaleshark visit us and had a few cobia following. My buddies pinfish was picked up by a 22#, About an hour later the shark returned with the cobia in tow, My live pinfish was picked up by a 30#. Good times had by all...except maybe the cobia we are eating tonight! http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/ll422/t...inellas%20reef/
  6. Why do I look at that boat and see kilos stashed all over it??....
  7. Heck yeah.. I want a banner banner. Just configured a little corner of my garage to do a little fishing rod and reel business and that ReelBoating banner would look great in here!! Just got the internet up and running out here and keep the screen on ya'll throughout the day. That way I can show my buddies where I get all of my outstanding fishing and boating knowledge....
  8. Hey, Wiley..how bout a banner to put up next to one of these????
  9. I really love their gear. Slowly but surely all my Penn stuff is being replaced by Shimano. I have come to be quite comfortable with lever drags, and my tld 15's, 20's and 25's have been bulletproof. Looks like they have a little bling as well! Thanks for the pics....
  10. "Word of mouth is going to be the most important advertising you can get. mechdave" That was precisely what got me started when I opened my own electronics/security business back in the 80's. Also, those 40 hr weeks I was working went by the wayside. Lots of dealings with cpa's, local government agencies paperwork, vehicles....etc. But I would never trade the experience for anything else. Very rewarding and profitable business. Start slowly, don't get in over your head. Make sure you are a man of your word. Everyone promises things they can't deliver on. Not Good! I have bought, rewired and sold four boats over the past two years as a hobby. Few people care to lower themselves down into the bilge and uder the console and tackle a nasty birdsnest... If you are good at it, there is no reason for you not to succeed. Good luck, Rick
  11. Sweet looking ride......got a soft spot in my heart for mustangs (and triumphs!) I was around when the first CS came out..67 or 68. That car on an early morning and an autocross track and it will be just like hooking and fighting the big one, bringing it to the dock and everyone ooohs and aaahs.... So, you need to hook up with the local sports car community and find a place that you can run her off the street, and not just a dragstrip. Those cars love to turn and handle.. Or you can bring it down here to Masaryktown and we can hit the local airport course on the third Saturday and have a riot.... Good job and congratulations!
  12. Great stuff..we have a trip planned in the morning and my buddys daughter is as excited as the rest of us to be heading out. Lets see how good we can make it for her!
  13. I swear they are part of the remora family! We find them down here following rays in shallow water. They do like live bait. We also get them in the deeper water of the ship cahnnels late in the summer. I have gotten them on a fast dropping high tide....
  14. Here's the Boat Trader link...lots of boats for sale... http://www.boattrader.com/search-results/T...ort-Price:DESC/
  15. Well, as far as the brand...if you did well with your Grady, you should consider their WA. After all, I think they started that whole gamut of boats. With a child aboard and somewhere to offer him and momma some comfort, I dont think you can beat a WA. We have had ours only a few weeks, and feel we made the right decision. Sure hasn't kept us from catching any fish, and the cuddy has been helpful to get out this hot sun we have down here. Good luck...wish I had your dilemma..
  16. I was replacing my impeller every other year(about 100 hrs) and the whole kit every 200 hrs. This worked on my 90 Yamaha for ten years. If they ever overheat, have a real good look at the plastic housing, as they do not come in the kit and may need replacing. Good luck!
  17. This is great stuff!!! These memories will last so much longer than with a so called fishing buddy. Really make the guy suck up....if there's a next time.
  18. Ahh Yes..remember that spot very well! However it was about twenty years ago! Can you still get a greasy fish and chips dinner wrapped in newspaper? Sure did taste good...Good luck, Stephen and have fun!
  19. I hooked this ol girl...about an 8' nurse shark..good initiation of the new boat. We also pu about 150 short grouper on board..no keepers
  20. Good luck to you and the Mrs...as time passes all this will add a little extra to your special day. Hope the docs get it right and she does fine....
  21. I'm a Toyota guy. Been driving one version or another of their trucks since 1971. Long before it wasn't popular buying that "foreign" brand. My current Tundra has a 4.7 and a tow rating of 6500#. The older Sequoia is rated at 6300#. The newer ones with the 5.7 will tow 6500#. My Tundra does just fine towing my sig pic rig, which is right up to the limit of our truck. All that with an unloaded mpg of around 18. If I had a domestic to consider it would probably be the GM products. Ford has really taken a hit with their diesels and the 5.4. Chrysler? Well, the Durango and the Hemi have nice poower, but no usable torque. When towing they drop down out of high gear regularly, even with o/d turned off...
  22. Congratulations, Stephen. Thanks for all the posts during the rebuild. Your time and efforts have been rewarded!
