  1. Wiley, I think that pretty well describes myself....considering the present value of our home to the debt owed...
  2. I's been over a year since the last time the Dow visited the 10k range. Now this is some "change" I can handle....
  3. My buddy and his wife came to town from Panama. He really doesn't get to fish al ot there, so we loaded up for a half day trip. Put 108 fish on board from 09:30 to 14:00... Looks like we got us a baby tiger..really feisty. A reef shark and tons of short grouper. Lots of grunts. Two keeper grouper to make the trip worthwhile... http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/ll422/triumphrick/
  4. I have two Penn 114H reels, NIB with tools and clamps. High speed, 2.8:1. These reels have stainless steel spools. They are from the 70's. I would like to sell both together. $230 shipped. This quality 6/0 reel is not being made today....
  5. I have logged on to the keepamericafishing website and sent my representatives a copy. I have also joined the Pasco County, Florida chapter of CCA. I worked very hard back in 94-95 to assist in having the irresponsible gill netters removed from our inshore waters. I committed myself to that drastic measure after seeing thousands of gutted mullet left at my local ramp in Englewood, Fla. Those mullet were gutted for the roe and dumped for all the rest of us to see. Those pictures I took made their way into several issues of Florida Sportsman magazine and caused an uproar. The state amendment passed by a large margin. Myself and many many others all contributed our time and effort. It was all about doing something, instead of sitting on my butt and complaining; waiting for someone else to do nothing. This is another opportunity for those of us who fish to take a stand and not let this government tell us where and for how long I can wet a line.....
  6. I sure hope that IF my boat was stolen from my fenced property I could post here in an effort to have some fellow members be aware my rig is out there somewhere and maybe an extra pair of eyes could help locate it. It might seem like I was crying the blues, but in fact all I want is some help to recover my rig...seems like the cops have bigger fish to fry. I think I take all the right precautions, but some of these scumbags would be ruthless enough to do away with your guard dogs; now not only is your boat stolen, but your pets need a burial....
  7. OK, moved up to a boat we can overnight in. Our JackRussel, Lucy really wants to go...so says my wife. So, when overnighting on your boat, with your pets, where do they poop? Anywhere, and just clean it up? In a Depends? Hold them over the side and have them go on command? (You'll have to teach me that one!) So, if you go offshore with your dog, how do they go about doing their business?? Thanks, Rick
  8. Byron Leftwich.....SUX Raheem Morris.....SUX Bucs......................0-3
  9. OK, I have to ask...I have seen this boat with the rack of 250's across it's transom for a while now...who, what, where, when, why?????
  10. If you are going to make a permanent repair, it should be done using inline crimp heat/shrink connections available at HD, Lowes, etc. in their electrical dept, unless you have a reasonable marine supply store near you. If you can't buy the ones with heatshrink on them. buy some pieces and cover and shrink the connections. Otherwise, given a few years in the weather and water you will slowly lose the circuitry... Do you have a Harbor freight near you? They sell marine shrink sleeve and put their 2 speed heat guns on sale for as little as $10.
  11. Good pics, thanks. Ya gotta love that delivery car, van, whatever is under all that junk!!
  12. I have only been there a few times, but came to realize Bonnie sure is a friend to all. I never knew of her past, just chuckled at that big 'ol shrimp. This was interesting reading....thanks!
  13. Oh my God...I am so sorry to hear of your loss... I never had pets untill I married this wife and for the past few years we have had a little JackRussel who is as much a part of our family as my kids. I could not imagine having to put her down. God bless you...and we will have a special prayer for you both tonight..Rick
  14. I know what you mean about the twins. We are just a little south of you and we know what the run is like to get to any decent deeper weater. With our newer rig we wanted and got twins. With the four strokes they are within 1 mpg of the single 150 on my last KeyWest. Really efficient and the 115's have proven to be trouble free. I talked to one other member here who had a rig similar to the one you are looking at and has been really happy with it. Good luck, but if you can afford to play the waiting game a while I would. I don't know if you are dealing with Homosassa Marine, but we found them to have high prices and would not really negotiate...
  15. I recently helped a buddy pick up a 2003 ProLine 20' DC, '03 Mercury 150, '03 EZ Loader trailer few electronics for $8800. The overall condition of the boat was good to very good. It had been for sale for $10,500 for about three weeks before we made the offer. I just sold my '02 KeyWest 2020DC, '02 Yamaha 150 2 stroke 140 hrs, '02 Performance trailer and all electronics for $14k. The prices for some used boats are pretty low right now.
  16. Yep...same unit. Actually we just ordered it last week and it arrived yesterday. Jim at BOE marine kept his sale price on and we got one.
  17. Or at least all of our computers would stop working. For years after that I serviced systems with our y2k decals indicating we had installed new firmware that we knew would not be affected...company made a lot of money on that. I also serviced the exact same equipment that some customers did not spring for the new upgrade....their products were unaffected..
  18. Repost from photobucket.... From Crystal River Labor Day Sunday..got some big greenbacks, nice blacktip and even nicer 28" red grouper http://s314.photobucket.com/albums/ll422/t...20river%209-06/
  19. All right..don't everyone jump at once!!... We're gonna load up the little nephews and nieces and heading for Homosassa Sprgs. Meander up the river and then head out to see if they can get up on some trout or reds.. Good luck on your trip....
  20. I'm in my early 60's..back in my day I was Rick Dog or Tricky Rick, friends were Brother Bill, Brother Clark (last name), and a guy named Snooker... Nowadays, all my son (Buzz) friends names are Lightning, Possum, Beavis, Chucky, Moat.....just a few I can remember..
  21. I'm biased..I'm an old car guy. Oil changes, plugs, impellers, valve lash adfjustments are right down my alley. My twin F115's together give me about 2.8 mpg running at 28 knts. They are thrifty and I can do anything I need to maintain them. I used these forums to decide they were what I wanted. They are not for everyone.....
