  1. oh and mrs works there too but she's more important than me
  2. So what's your job at Direct TV? its a regional position. Interestingly, I really don't watch too much tv. It's on for noise if mrs is home with me otherwise I have music on.
  3. I have every channel that DIRECTV offers, all sports packages, all features, HD, couple DVR's (one on the boat), and get free service calls should I ever need one. I also get to upgrage my equipment every 12 months if I want. I pay zero.
  4. gotta doo business and gotta doo doo-doo. I call it efficiency; excellent time management. Allows me to spend more time not working. Took a call form my IT dept today on the crapper.
  5. ya know, it would be fine but George Bus f'd it all up for the rest of us..
  6. heck no, just mondays and fridays. Maybe a couple hours in the feild during the day if I feel like it.
  7. i do about 85% travel and mostly love it. I do not, however, have to fly much - just 5-8 hours in the truck.
  8. Sorry - haven't been here in awhile - missed the thread. I am Quality Assurance Manager for Southeast/Midwest region for DirecTV. Either sat company, if properly installed, will have minimal issues. Note I said PROPERLY installed. If you have rain fade for more than a couple minutes during the hardest of the storm then it is not properly installed. The biggest thing is when cable goes out you do not know why. When sat goes out during a rain then you know why so everybody thinks sats do not work in any rain... Look at programming, commitment, lease terms, monthly cost then make your choice. DTV has better HD offereing and Dish is known for battling network execs over cost and if Charlie Ergin doesn't like it he'll pull the station for a couple weeks. Especially locals. Email me with any concerns. I cover IA, MS, AL, AR, MO (most of), TN, GA (part of), and for some weird reason Baltimore and part of Raliegh NC. jdmckeehan@dtvhs.com and no I cannot get you free DTV.
  9. good news there peterbo! Faster than most of us could get in country. and man yer an ugly feller...
  10. This is some engine: Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm The Wartsila-Sulzer RTA96-C turbocharged two-stroke diesel engine is the most powerful and most efficient prime-mover in the world today. The Aioi Works of Japan 's Diesel United, Ltd built the first engines and is where some of these pictures were taken. It is available in 6 through 14 cylinder versions, all are inline engines. These engines were designed primarily for very large container ships. Ship owners like a single engine/single propeller design and the new generation of larger container ships needed a bigger engine to propel them. The cyl inder bore is just under 38" and the stroke is just over 98". Each cylinder displaces 111,143 cubic inches (1820 liters) and produces 7780 horsepower. Total displacement comes out to 1,556,002 cubic inches (25,480 liters) for the fourteen cylinder version. Some facts on the 14 cylinder version: Total engine weight: 2300 tons (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.) Length: 89 feet
  11. I am buying a new (to me) boat but not the big expensive ones like some of you have. However I am moving up in size to 30+ feet and I have been contacting brokers - pretty non responsive/agressive generally as a group. I have found one that seems pretty willing to help a redneck buy an old cruiser where he won't be making much money - maybe that just because me and my ilk are the only ones really buying right now.
  12. cold and wind would seem to lend itself to your pictures???
  13. Hola senor! I was looking at an old post on fcb and wondered where you went.
  14. http://www.boasty.org/ just found this on the Sea Ray site.
  15. find a Ron Popeil pocket fisherman. Or a good old Zebco 33 - that what I had until I gave it to my boy.
