Hello , this is my first post. I have a 220triton seahunt. The problem I have is the transom seats are not working out. So I need to find someone to custom make two coolers that also are to be used as seats on either side of the live well. If someone can tell me where to find on the web a site on how to fiberglass I would attempt to do it myself thanks tiny
Did you check YouTube? They have a lot of good info on glassing...

She loves the whole boating and camping (if you can call a 36' fifth wheel camping, more like a rolling holiday inn) thing we do. When we were searching for our new camper she was very involved and spent lots of time looking while I was busy working to pay for it.
We were pretty set on a Sailfish 2360 but the layout of the Sea Fox is really nice. Plus it has two strokes on it which is a plus in my book. I have a four strokes on my current fishing boat and pontoon boat and I liked the two strokes on my previous boats better.
It is a 25 footer so it will be a little tight for my canal/dock situation but should work. I'm negotiating now so hopefully I can bring her home soon.

I liked RayMarine radar but since I have seen the newer HD Garmin radar and the lower price, I now would prefer Garmin for HD.
I dislike having to buy an entire new system to upgrade my radar display as I would with RayMarine.
RM has not kept up with technology and now are looking at folding/selling off their Raymarine corporation... too bad... Limiting choices seems to increase prices...
If these companies would allow upgrades without having to buy into whole systems, they'd fair better... JMO...

You guys dont have drive on trailers?
Many times I launch and recover by myself and find it harder to drive onto the trailer, climb under the bow rail and onto the trailer tongue.
I can clip the hook on the bow eye from the dock and let her drift or push her to the opening of the trailer and hit the remote... cranks right up... then I can safety chain it before going up the ramp...
The first time I used the hand winch to crank up the boat I broke the winch. I bought the PowerWinch that afternoon. never looked back. As I stated, nice to see the boat behind me and if it loosens up, hit the remote and snug it up while running the highway...

More power to you... I'll stick to restoring cars.. I think I'd have better luck getting my money out of that then a restored sunken boat... But then again.. a lot of times, its not about the money... its the challenge... Overall its awesome...

Anyone here going to the Seattle Boat Show? I know of several boaters from another boating forum going on 30 Jan and will meet up for dinner at 4PM at the BluWater Bistro next to the in water show on Lake Union. We expect about 15 fellow boaters...

I have the power winch with a strap, not a fan of cables and salt water
I hear that... I'm going to switch out the cable with a strap this spring. Too many burrs on the cable after use since 1996...

We headed out from home after dewinterizing the boat and got into Bell harbor marina for new years eve through Jan 2nd. Spent New years eve out on Elliott Bay watching the Space Needle with friends as I maneuvered around the tourist boats. Very cool perspective and will do it again next year!
Unfortunately we could not see the new moon due to the clouds (Seattle)...

I too have owned Penn's, Scotty's and currently Canon Mag 10's... I liked the plugs of the Scotty's and switched out the canon plugs to the Marinco style last winter. The Scottys and Canon electrics have a habit of getting kicked out at the wrong time.. when fish on... Very happy with the new plugs. Even though the Canon put a charge in the water (.5v I think), I still run a Protroll Black box to regulate the charge in the water and specifically target certain salmon species...
Both Scotty and Canon do the job. Because Scotty is made in the local area, we have them all over the place and they are the downrigger of choice. Life time warranty is nice too.
I would go with an ebay search for a good set of used electric downriggers... No need to buy new...

I too use a powerwinch RC 30 and have the remote option so when I am driving and I notice the winch looks loose, I grab the remote and tuck it up a bit w/o slowing down while driving... I have used it for two boats since 1996.

Well, I love to boat as most everyone here does. Got my first boating license in NY at 13 and grew up on Long Island's Great South Bay. Been boating now over 45 years.
Now located in the Great NW where rain is the weather forecast with an occasional "sun break". The Admiral hates it here so we will be looking for new digs someplace on the "Easy" coast and away from the "Left" coast... but not too soon. Maybe SC around the northern shore near the south end of NC...
Anyway, current boat is a 24' Ciera Express 2452 and I repowered her with a Merc HO MPI 6.2 and she flies... (anyone need a rebuilt 5.7?) have many upgrades since... RayMarine 48 NM radar, GPS, auto trim tabs w/ indicators, electronic compass and auto helm, inverter, dual battery banks w/Blue Sea monitoring system, holding and fresh water tank indicators, electric flush head, resurfaced cabin floors, two Canon electric down riggers with ProTroll black box, HDTV w/DVD/CD/SD player built in, heated cockpit, 9.9 electric steered kicker w/ electric start at helm, Kiddie fire suppressant system in engine bay, Xintex Fume detector, sliding helm seat with added arm rests, dual seats added to aft cockpit, Sprint 600 anchor windlass, four position cockpit and cabin heat system and a few other mods I forgot... Check my sig for more photos & upgrades of our boat... When we go to the East coast, I'll install outriggers from my dad's recently retired Shamrock.
I like this new forum much better than the previous and also hope this site stays focused on boating and boat related threads for the most part...

I used this Compact Flash in my C-70 RayMarine one time to try it out. We flipped our boat in a highway traffic accident and never got to try it out on a lake. I was cleaning up my office and found this HotMaps CF. It is still in the original packaging. Front displays: HotMaps Premium West CF/PREM-W-2 Jan 2006 256MB. Our newer boat does not use CF so I can not use it.
This works in RayMarine and Northstar chartplotters.
