  1. One thing I have found missing from this thread is a defense of law enforcement departments as a whole. That kind of surprises me. Many times there will be a plethora of defenders rushing to their "plight", the "one bad apple" thing, the "the majority are great people" defenses... Have times changed? Has the general populus had enough? What about that guy in Oakland last week? How DID the cops behave before the unfortunate circumstances unfolded? I mean, we need them, but...
  2. So I wondered what E-A-G-L-E-S was. Philly fan forum? Acronym for latest weaponry system? Love 'em, but I'm an '80s guy. A little Nu Shooz, Level 42, Def Leppard, I'm good to go... Music and a boating forum. Keeps you on an even keel...
  3. I'd say that is an excellent testimony. What I said earlier, I still stand behind it. Lets face it, we all suffer issues with certain products that the rest of the world finds great. Go figure...
  4. And how was the show? Anybody selling anything?
  5. Most likely...it's awesome stuff... :605_thumbs_up:
  6. Plenty of Merc shirts, Etec shirts, Honda shirts, Suzuki shirts, not to mention ball caps out the ying-yang. But should Wiley need some financial assistance, well, I'll be glad to give, but this is my wheel Hmm, can I fit five of them in the avatar space?
  7. Thunder, I think all here take your post seriously, as it is obvious that Teleflex is aware of an issue that is causing pitting/corrosion on the cylinder ram. Chances are, also the rod that passes through the tilt tube. I believe the real issue is stray current from another source other than a 2S versus a 4S "Voltage Level". Remember, DC current has a direct path to ground within the confines of the boat, that being the negative post on the battery. AC, however, dumps it current path into the water. I think that is more the likely scenario that is taking place with the corrosion/pitting issue. Thunder, relax. We are not saying you don't know what you are talking about. As a matter of fact, you have raised some excellent questions. But there are some definite issues that have been raised here, as evidenced by the existence of a "bonding kit" for the Seastar cylinder. We'll find out. In the meantime, thanks for the info, and have a beer... Bob C
  8. The way I look at it, if you want a wheel, how about a REAL wheel? :605_thumbs_up:
  9. King, If you can re-use the caps you have, that would be great. And yes, you can just order caps. Make sure your switches are in good shape also. Put your meter on the feed and accessory terminals, turn the switch on, and see how quick your meter zeros out (set it on continuity). If it takes it's time, you've got some resistance in there. Also check your breakers, resistance across the terminals.
  10. That's what the wife said...big brass ones! You should have seen him when he was 20' above the bucket, straddling the tree, lopping the top off, limb by limb, and no harness! Damn, I hope he made a grand this aft. 7:15, wind is still kicking. Will we get some rain? Hope so...hot and sticky for March. Summer will be here shortly. Snook will be on the prowl, Reds on the beds and the drop-offs, mangroves and the baby groupers on the flats... Trout? Whatever...
  11. Reel, Excellent job, especially on the 1/4 rounds. Although, this is not the first time I've seen this done... How's the old V20 doing?
  12. So it's that kind of day here in FL. The neighbors across the street have a dead pine, every bit of 70'. And they decide to have it cut down...today! How much do you think this guy charged them? And he never wore a safety harness... I watched the whole thing...the guy is nuts, and good!
  13. Kerno, You are absolutely correct in that assertion. Real world? Why are GOOD hull warranties limited to 10 years? And even then, it can be like pulling teeth to get the manufacturer to pony up for a new hull or deck. That's the world we live in...
  14. King, If your not committed to gray for the switch cap color, we've got them in black and white, silk-screened, washdown, bilge pump, livewell pump, livewell light, horn...you name it. With the red slit for indicator lights. Also have the switches. On/Off, Momentary On/Off, On/Off/On...all Carling. And if you ask me why I didn't tell you this before...you didn't ask!
  15. Bly, You would be surprised at the penny-pinching going on at the OEM level these days... BTW, vinylester is not completely waterproof. It will resist water absorption on a much greater scale than polyester resin, but it can still absorb...
  16. Bly, So this is what you need. This: and this: No extra wires needed, just a jumper from one of the gauges to provide backlighting. You'll also need 1/8" hose, which Yam sells. The sender screws into either head at the base of it. Have your dealer show you where. Then of course you have to run the hose forward. It fits over a barb on the back of the gauge similar to a regular speedo. Gauge P/N 6Y7-83660-10-0 Sender P/N MAR-WPRES-AD-TR Verify the pressure range from your dealer. Some need 30 PSI display, some need 40. Bob C
  17. Kern, Switching over to vinylester is not that big of a deal, just the cost issue. It is still compatable with the various glasses. We switched over years ago and didn't have to change any of our substrate materiel. The cost, these days, is the real hiccup with builders...
  18. I think there is an Avatar out there somewhere that looks exactly like THT wheels... BTW, I work in Crystal River. One of the men who died, his father owns the Firestone store just up 19 from the plant. But, oddly enough, there didn't seem to be much out-pouring of sympathy in the community. I live down in Pasco, so I wasn't really exposed on a day to day basis with the effects of the tragedy in the local community, but the general talk both in Tampa Bay and in Crystal River was that how idiotic the men were for going out on that afternoon, especially as far as they went. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE on the Gulf Coast knew a cold front was approaching and that afternoon conditions at sea, nearshore included, were going to deteriorate quickly once the front started arriving. If you wanted to fish that day, the ICW, bays, maybe a few miles out would have been the preference of 99% of the boaters. At least a few miles out, when the winds started kicking up, it would only be minutes to reach protected waters. Sometimes you just have to wonder...
  19. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++! And I just observe this crap! 12-year-old wanna-play-soldier BS! Have you ever noticed the cops look more and more like the military? I suppose that's fine in a dictatorship, but, last time I checked, we, weren't... Hell, I'll probably have to take a time-out for that one...
  20. 165, Think about, the Peace empties into Charlotte Harbor, the home of Boca Grande Pass, the best Tarpon fishery in the world...wash your feet before you wade into that river... Have a great time, it's beautiful!
  21. Email to Teleflex sent. Will find out tomorrow.
  22. I HIGHLY recommend a water pressure gauge to the standard compliment of gauges. When I was at Wellcraft ('94-'00), it was standard on every boat, including the 165 CCF/AS 165 Striper. 165Striper, verify that for me...
  23. +++! Excellent pics! They say they are worth a thousand words!
  24. Bob's Machine Shop Low Water Pickup should do the trick.
