  1. Porline pulled outta Florida, screwed their very loyal workforce.

Florida Sportsman forum reports that Porline left their site heavily

polluted, who knows for sure. Then they move to Washington NC

and go belly up. Their very vocal management couldn't mouth

enough how Porline was gonna move all der employees to

Washington to build Porlines, "side by side with Fountains"

    What a crock.

Thank goodness, they failed before they had a

chance to destroy the Fountain name as they did Donzi.

Let's hope de ex-employees of Porline find plenty of fulfilling work, soon.

    PBR,

Unfortunately, unless the Proline and Donzi models move back down here to the vacant PL plant, the likelihood of those former employees finding work is not very good. Citrus County is very well known for being "anti-business", not so much the government, but the citizenry. If you can imagine Ft. Myers, just move it north a bit. Retirees, in a small area, nice and quiet, and they want to keep it that way.

And you know, as well as I, that no one, especially the management of PL/Donzi, was really going to bend over backwards to assist PL/Donzi employees with getting them jobs at the Fountain plant when there were already thousands of well qualified employees in NC that needed the work. That was just a bunch of bullshit, you know it, I know it, and so do the people who said it. PR was all that was...

Remember when Wellcraft pulled up stakes and high-tailed it to Cadillac? Talked to a few of my old WC buddies at that time. Genmar offered them $700 to assist in re-locating...$700? What the phuck does that do to move an entire household, sell a house, rent a place, drive back and forth 1300 miles...in other words, have a nice day...

They don't give a shit about you or I, plain and simple. I've been in this business a long time, I know...

  2. I am not a fan of any of the boats involved in this bankruptcy but I don't quite get how inflamed you all seem to be. It's a company, they fail, they either re-emerge or disappear. Why the crazy emotions over companies with which, other than being a buyer of one of their products, you all never have any other interaction? Seems a bit over the top to me.

    CJ,

I worked for Wellcraft/Aquasport from '94-'00, with a short stint at Hydra-Sorts. Then, in that miserable year, took a job at Intrepid helping them get caught up. They got caught up, we got let go. Went up the road to Tarpon Springs the next Monday morning to Stamas Yacht, started the next day, May '00 to Feb. '06. Applied for and got an engineering position at Proline Feb 20, '06, was there 'til got laid off in '09 (nobody was left), started my own business, haven't looked back since...

So SOME OF US do have, and have had interactions with these companies...

  3. Wow, reelboating has matured into tht; I'm so pleased to see this come about....groannnnnnn

It wasn't my intent but I stand by my post.

And I stand by mine...as I said, I was asked about the situation, as apparently I have knowledge others may not, I commented, as was asked (question mark does indicate a question, correct?), and you came on a public forum spouting false accusations towards me.

So, this time, shall we try to have an intelligent discussion about what is going on with the situation up there in Washington, or do you have more neat stuff you can share with us? You know, that REALLY intelligent stuff you put out there for all of us to ponder? OOPS, used the word ponder twice...

  4. You want to say that to my face, bud? I have ZERO allegience to PL, or any other company, for that matter

This is too funny. I know you "suck up" to Carringan and his hoes to

"Get discounts on material and parts"....yer words, not mine.

Yer stil claiming to be a "LowLine Engineer" ?...and before yer answer,

just remember, "Jawz" ain't dat far away.

You must lead one miserable life...

  5. All crap aside I'm glad this has come to the top.

CB4 and MC have their heads so deep into the ass of the company that nobody could do anything wrong in their eyes.

    Sell it all to Mitt.

You want to say that to my face, bud? I have ZERO allegience to PL, or any other company, for that matter. The question was asked, I was addressed, I put my opinions (with some inside info) out there, and you attack me with FALSE statements!!!

    GO F YOURSELF!!!!

  6. So this is what I know, from my good friend brad1951 (if you are over "there", you know him).

It more or less is a legal issue as to who owns what, who can do what with what names, in other words, a bunch of legal bullshit. Both sides have TONS of money, so $58M to them is like a dollar to us...just a bunch of rich little boys and their egos, fighting over who's ball it is...and probably spending 5 times the worth of the ball!

My buddy Brad? He's a supervisor at the plant, PLs, Donzis, Fountains. He's been on unemployment since this whole thing hit the fan. Monday, he's headed up to get his boat, his tools, and put his furniture in storage.

So there you have it. BTW, I wired the Proline 26 Super Sport that Joe Worley pulls around behind his 100'+ Bertram, he's one of the Plaintiffs...guess he ain't hurting too bad!!!753_hammer_hitting_head.gif753_hammer_hitting_head.gif753_hammer_hitting_head.gif
