  1. The refined 34 jumped way up my list. Thanks for getting pics.

Really beautiful boats. The only two that really fit my needs would be the 29 and 32. It seems they have raised the decks to accomodate heavier engines, which makes the gunnels feel to low. This would not be a problem if you are a little shorter.

  2. A friend of mine is trying to recruit me (and my boat) for a trip over to Bimini this spring, and its got me a little pumped up.

Wasn't there a topic here in the beginning in which a group trip was discussed? I can't seem to find it. Or maybe I dreamed it.

Anyway, I have never made that trip and was just looking for tips, etc.

Wiley, does your wife still work for a resort over there? Or did I dream that too?

I believe the Bahamas sponsors several group trips. It might be something to check into.

  3. Hello All - new user to this forum. WTB Everglades, Whaler or Edgewater. 26 - 29'. With Whaler - Outrages only and only to 27' due to weight. Fourstroke engines only. Prefer Yamaha or Suzuki and then Honda (I realize Whaler will have the Verado or Mercaha). Trailer a plus. Email me or post to this forum. Thank you.

Why just those 3 makes? Bob Dougherty fan? I have a 26' Southport for sale on this site that, imo, rides better than all three of those. In fact, when I bought her, I had narrowed my list to the Everglades, the Edgewater and the Southport and you can see which one won. I don't have a trailer, but let me know if you're interested. Best, Tack

  4. 18ft taco telescoping rigger that I am stringing up for the first time. Suggestions on a kit. Double clipping each. Lee? Taco?

    Thanks!

I'd skip the kit and just buy the exact components you want. You may save a few bucks with a kit put potentially have components that you do not care for. I prefer Rupp Klickers and rig everything up with mono. Myabe pic up a couple of stoppers.

  5. Wow what a game I thought the Flyers where going to hang on and then it happened. Good sportsmanship at the end it showed a lot of class after being in a dog fight. :1946_headbanging::605_thumbs_up:

I couldn't have been more disappointed by this series. Now given, I'm not a fan of either team (for that matter, pretty much loathe the Flyers), but I though the series lacked something. Then again, it may just be that I can't get over what goons Carcillo, Asham and Hartnell are. Once Chicago had won, the Flyers fans were booing. What class...

  6. Ben

I think you just met Steve, I think is his name. Your comments have been heard before, I have dealt with him and found him gruff, pissy and extremely knowledgeable. If you have an issue, call and speak to Brian Lee and mention that his guy needs a tune up.

I broke two outriggers during the hurricanes in the Bahamas and 'ole grouchy Steve sent me the stuff for repair in two days, I didn't even get the description of the problem out and he told me what I needed. He's grouchy, but usually right, I hate that!

I was under the impression that Brian is not there anymore. Anyone able to confirm that?

  7. One of my Grand Salm 250 outrigger holders kept slipping down. All of the metal bullets were in place and fixing it was beyond my scope. I had purchased these three years earlier. I called Taco, found my receipt which put the purchase date just short of three years by a week, and was told to send them in as they would be covered under warranty. Three weeks later, I received a call confirming my address. The problem has been fixed and they are on the way. Thanks for standing behind your product.

  8. It's got to be fun to run WOT and not pay for gas!

A few years ago I saw a 30-34' center console heading out

of Jones Inlet with Homeland Security markings. Funny,

why did a homeland security boat have rocket launchers?!

What a silly question... It's to put fishing rods in.

In all seriousness, I'd bet it was a seized boat that was re-appropriated for their use.
