  1. Nah, nothing you said, and no problem with the site design and overall philosophy. (But those limburger, garlic and onion sandwiches might explain something... ) I can't speak for others, but wintertime around this household means "project time" and tons of time spent addressing the honey-do list. And I'm sure lots of the Northern guys are too busy keeping ahead of the snow and ice to be thinking much about boating. Give it time... a few more weeks the traffic should be picking up as the covers come off the boats and the projects are started for the new season.
  2. I've never installed one, but all of my previous boats (26', 28' and 30') had them and they were the best thing since canned beer. They kept the muddy anchors off the deck and out of the rode locker, making the clean-up process a bit easier. A buddy had his remote-controlled spotlight installed at the front end of his, ahead of the anchor roller. It made for a very neat installation and totally eliminated glare off the deck.
  3. No , that's what would happen if you allowed certain people over on THaT other site anywhere near a boat that's not identical to their own.
  4. You Da Man ! I knew they kept you around here for a reason.
  5. Not quite as easy as I thought... now my normal signature is just showing as a link to the picture I've always used. Tried deleting the "dock" line, but my sig is still showing as just a line of text. Suggestions?

  8. Justice Triumphs! Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Fourteen suspected terrorists died Tuesday night when the bus they rigged with explosives blew up prematurely, police said. The explosion occurred as the suspects were riding the bus in the province of Kunduz, said police chief Abdul Raziq Yaqobi. Yaqobi said the suspects wanted to attack Afghan police or foreign soldiers.

  10. Plenty fast here, too... Regardless, Welcome to RB !!
  11. FLIR is some pretty great technology. Lots of police agencies, Border Patrol, Coast Guard etc. equip their helos with it to help locate the bad guys, border interlopers, boating victims, and several other uses. Recently around here, FLIR identified a house that was creating a very strong heat image; ends up the place was being used as a grow house for a big crop of "wacky tobacky".
  12. Exactly the kind of info I was looking for; thanx muchly. And I was planning on the exact power inlet you pictured. As for the 26SS - - you really know how to hurt a guy, don't you?
  13. Okay, gang... here's your challenge of the day. I've got an 18' center console that has a trolling motor mounted on the bow. The cranking battery is located under the deck a little aft of the helm seat. The battery for the trolling motor is located inside the center console, about 6 feet from the cranking battery. I'm tired of playing with a portable charger, switching the leads from one battery to the other, etc., etc. I want to install a fixed mount marine-type battery charger inside the console to charge both batteries while the boat is sitting in the driveway. Now the questions: What's a good charger to keep a peak charge on both batteries without overcharging or cooking them? What gauge wire would you use between the charger and the batteries? What's better to use in the charging wire, an inline fuse or a circuit breaker? Am I missing something I should be considering in this installation?
  14. Gus, the farther forward you can mount the light, the better. As previously mentioned, if you put it up high and toward midship, you're going to get an awful lot of glare off the foredeck, destroying your night vision. A good remote-controlled light will reduce that glare to almost non-existant, and you can tweak its position to sweep the water ahead of you. Also, with it being farther forward, the full intensity of the light will be where directed where you need it, and away from where you don't want it.
  15. I've been right here, admiring the eye candy that Wiley has been providing. That's kept me entirely too busy to post much. Happy New Year right back at ya! Hope it's a great year for plenty of boating, fishing and - - yes - - boat building!
  16. She's not dest...dirst...dtrsi... Okay, okay... maybe she IS!
  17. Taking a page from Brett Favre's book, Meyer has apparently now decided to "un-retire" and instead take a leave of absence from his FSU duties. NEW ORLEANS - One of the most driven coaches in football must walk away from the game that ultimately drives him. At least for a couple of months. Despite taking a leave of absence from the Florida Gators football program to get healthy, coach Urban Meyer plans to be back in time for the 2010 season. When asked why he retracted on Saturday night's resignation, Meyer said "the players." "I do in my gut believe that will happen," Meyer said of a 2010 return during Sunday's Sugar Bowl press conference. The No. 5 Gators (12-1) play No. 4 Cincinnati (12-0) on Friday in the Superdome. Meyer, 45, shocked the college football world Saturday night with news that he was stepping down as Florida Gators coach to recover from health scares, mainly from chest pains. Meyer changed his mind while on the practice field Sunday with his team, telling his players before hopping onto the plane to New Orleans that offensive coordinator Steve Addazio would be the interim coach until he returns. Several teammates cried when they found out Meyer was quitting Saturday, only to celebrate less than 24 hours later. His wife Shelley and three kids, who were in attendance at the press conference, didn't find out about the news until meeting Meyer at the airport. "To not try would not be the right thing to do," Meyer said. Foley calls Meyer's rehabilitation a "long-term conversation," and Meyer is expected to officially step away from the team on Jan. 2. He's not allowed to visit the UF football offices for an undetermined amount of time. The nature of Meyer's health issues still aren't exactly clear. Meyer declined to answer certain questions about his health such as whether doctors recommended for him to step away from coaching.
  18. Spotted at Disney World on Christmas Day ~~~ Who could that be??
  19. You forgot item # 5 - 5] A current picture of your wife/girlfriend (or both) You'd think these mofo's would at least figure out how to put a sentence together in proper English, and that with all their money they'd have something other than a Yahoo e-mail address.
