  1. Looks great to me. Same guy who did the Inletcam.com logo (which I also think is great) ? The only thing I might be inclined to change is the color of the Sandbar lettering; a little more contrast - perhaps going a little more toward an orange shade - might make it a bit more readable from a distance, especially for those of us whose eyes are entitled to a senior citizen discount. Wiley, just an FYI - - I've got a friend who owns another website (unrelated to fishing/boating/sandbar-ing) who also runs an embroidery shop if you're interested in getting a few quotes. I've seen a lot of his work, and it's very high quality.
  2. Thanks for the input, guys; that's the kind of info I'm looking for. I talked to our in-house IT guy at work today and asked him what he knew about Windows7; he proceeded to extol all the benefits of IE7. When he finally shut up for three seconds, I reminded him I was looking for info about WINDOWS 7, not IE7. To which he replied... "Oh. I don't know about that." Guess I should have asked him en Espanol, but that's another story. Wiley, that's what I'm expecting next. My laptop is taking - - no exaggeration - - anywhere from three to five minutes to boot up, and is still sluggish once it loads. (Gives me time to pour myself three or four fingers of JW Blue!) I've done a lot of 'housekeeping', deleting unneeded programs, temp files, running tune-up utilities, and I'm backing up every bit of my data daily, just in case... Lester, with 7G of RAM, I guess your machine DOES fly! Mine's only got a measly 2G. (Who was it who, in the early days of PCs, said that "nobody will EVER need more than 640K of RAM" ??) Garett, appreciate the offer, but right now I think I'll hold off until the final version comes out and the reviews are in. In the meantime I'll cross my fingers, continue drinking heavily, and keep the recovery disks and the backup drive handy. Thanks again, guys!
  3. Wish I could! I'm stuck with Vista!
  4. Pretty much self-explanatory. I've totally had it with Vista, and have read a few good reviews for the beta of W7. Anybody got any firsthand experience with it? What (in your opinion) are the pros and cons? Is it anywhere near as much of a memory hog as Vista? Does it have any "gee whiz" features? And the other side of the coin - Does it have any "G-- D---" features? Appreciate your input!
  5. I'm sure you can find a horse's head or two to 'sweeten the deal'... Good luck, Gus; it's been a long haul. I hope this one pays off for you.
  6. If you need an "assistant photographer" on that media tour, let me know....
  7. Kind of sad, in a way. But, she had served her purposes well over many years, and now will add to the recreational enjoyment of many more people. I'd much rather see noble old ships meet this kind of fate than sending them to Indonesia, having them cut up and turned into imported cars.
  8. Don't ya love it when everything comes together like that? Welcome to Spring; hope your entire season goes as smoothly as the start-up.
  9. Magic win, 116-114 in overtime. Now leading the series 3-1.
  10. I find blue lights most offensive when they're on the roof of that trooper's car riding my back bumper. Seriously, some of the newer police lightbars with the pulsating blue high-intensity LEDs really play havoc with my vision. When I spot one on the side of the road up ahead, I have to shift my eyes to look as far away as possible without losing sight of the road.
  11. Getting 40 miles away from the ramp and realizing you left the cooler in the truck.
  12. Guys ~~ PowerballTomorrow night$222,000,000.00 Need I say more?
  13. Welcome aboard! Wiley's aware of some problems with IE8 - see http://reelboating.com/forums/?showtopic=22 for more info.
  14. Oh, yeah! Hard to forget a diabolical boat that tried several times to kill me. It was a 26' SeaRay express cruiser - 1982, I believe. It had a single 5.7 Merc I/O. We bought it just as winter was setting in up in Maryland. After sea trial, we made arrangements with the dealer to winterize and store it for us until spring. Spring finally arrived, and we headed down the Chesapeake to our marina. The following weekend, we cruised back up the bay only to have it crap out on us right in the middle of the ship channel leading to the C&D canal. Battery was brand new, but it simply would not crank. Considering our precarious location, USCG towed us to the nearest port, where the dealer picked it up. Turns out they had "forgotten" to re-winterize it after the sea trial, and an exhaust manifold had cracked over the winter; engine was full of water. Dealer took full responsibility and totally rebuilt the engine. While it was high and dry in the shop, I had to retrieve some stuff we had left onboard during our aborted cruise. I never saw the big slick of engine oil they left on the deck, and I ended up slipping off the swim platform, landing on the concrete and breaking my right heel. Eventually, it was repaired and we took it back home. A few weeks later we spent the night on it in the marina, me with a cast up to my knee. Woke up the next morning, stepped out of the v-berth into about 6 inches of water. Fresh water supply hose had busted overnight, filling the bilge, killing the battery (so no pump!) but ruining only the starter. Any wonder I traded it in on a brand new boat a few weeks later? But not before fouling the prop on an unmarked crab pot on the way to the dealership.........
  15. Sounds perfectly legit to me. Think they'd accept my Nigerian Nationsal Banque cashier's check in the amount of $48,000,000.17 and refund me the excess if I order a few dozen Mustangs?
  16. That's "Kismet", a mere 223 footer. It's a 2006 Lurssen. More info here ---> http://www.yachtkismet.com/
  17. A sea chest is basically a tank or container which draws seawater into it from one large thru-hull. That tank then feeds everything that needs water, such as livewells, washdowns, heads, etc. via individual hoses/pipes attached to the sea chest. The primary benefit, of course, is that you then only need one thru-hull and one valve to control incoming seawater. Makes for a neater and somewhat safer installation.
  18. I didn't look closely; did he perhaps mention Washington, DC ??
  19. Hey, Ludi... those kids look familiar! Give this one a shot, if you will. Sorry; the original is pretty poor quality.
  20. Scotch, huh ? Sounds like Big Al needs a new sig file.
  21. This one's for sale, also. Oh, you said HOOKS. Sorry. Misunderstood. My bad.
  22. Nah... this is more my speed.
  23. Not sure if I understand, Garett; are you hinting in some roundabout way that you don't particularly care for their products, and that you've taken them off your Christmas card list? Mist-Rest, you didn't mention - - how old are those shingles? (Just curious...)
  24. Yep, mighty lucky. Now I'm curious to find out how/where they found their own boat.
  25. Don't bank on it. Remember ~~~ the opposite of PROgress is CONgress.
