  1. God I am old. Southern Cross CSN version is the best How come no one chose this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_KY_d9MQv8
  2. Welcome to the forum. Another big thumbs up for your boat and the race!
  3. Happy Birthday Rich. 50 seems so young now... Enjoy your born on date!
  4. Don't know if it the same but there is one for sale on Amazon for $189. Model number was the same.
  5. I love Pro Line boats I used a wrong emote. But I still think the PT are way too cool. #810 looks like a smal destroyer.
  6. I know this is over 20 years ago that my grandmother died but here is a few things she saw in her lifetime. Born in 1887 first flight first man on the moon black and white photography to color 2 World wars Korea Vietnam The first mass manufactured car no highways to the Interstates system separate but equal integration indoor plumbing electricity the roaring 20's to the great depression mechanical adding machines to the birth of the modern computer She died in 1987 just one month short of her 101st birthday. She outlived both her children and her husband and one of her grandchilden who died in Vietnam and all her siblings but 2 there were 7 in her family. Her son was a pilot of a B17 in the 8th Army air force and did his 25 missions then was transferred to fly B29's and bombed Japan. OMG I wish I could remember all his stories. Maybe some of you can add to the list it could be some fun.
  7. It sure is a beast. Next to a PT boat it is shall we say beauty challenged Those PT are very sexy.
  8. ok I copied and pasted them but I did not hot link them so all should be good. Wiley returned my $2,000,000 gift... Back to subject I do understand that a knife would have worked that is just a long list of things they did not do that led them to pay the ultimate price of the mistakes they made. When I saw that picture of that boy hanging on to the lower unit of the engine it was quite moving to me. His will to live was and should always be an inspiration and a monument to the will of life. I know all the stupid mistakes but it did take them what about 7 to 8 serious mess ups to reach the swamping of the boat? Sad
  9. I know that pulling anchor was the final movement in this mess that ended in death. There are many other things that had to happen before the pulling of anchor. Such as going out with the weather forecast, the seas rising before it reached the 4 foot stage. I guess in my mind the icing on the cake was the pulling of the anchor from the rear and swamping the boat. It really is never one thing that causes any disaster.
  10. I was reading THT and saw this thread that made no sense. So I followed the bread crumbs and wound up on the site. I would say I received a personal invite but Wiley does not know me from anyone. Having read about "how the forum was better when Wiley had it" I thought I would see if his reputation was what everyone has said it to be. Still in such an infancy stage it is hard to tell what to expect. I have noticed that "some" people are not on here as yet. Wondering if it is on purpose or they just won't come. I am liking how the bashing has not started yet. It does get tiresome seeing some of the BS. If he keeps the politics off this board it has potential to be something special. I am here to learn. I don't know enough of anything as yet. I am thinking of purchasing a Dusky 23 when I make the big move. I have tons of questions so I will be asking way more here than other places. I was always told there are no dumb questions but I have seen people get flamed on the other site for asking question about basics. Everyone has to start somewhere and this is my starting point.
  11. Wiley how long does it take to get these shots? I know one of those boats was Homesite's do you know the others?
  12. Why would your friend switch engine brands? If he was not stacking up the Mercs like the Honda's makes sense to stay with what works. It is unreal that you live on an Island surrounded by water and there are no dealers or mechanics. Sounds like a good Mechanic/Owner could make some bucks.
  13. two ways to know if it is free and clear. 1st depending on the state the title will have a lien release stamped on the title by a lending institution with a "release" date. This should be on the front of the title. The 2nd way is to have a lien release attached to the title. This will be on a bank letterhead and stating the lien is satisfied. I would add a third but this varies huge from state to state. Go to the license office with the hull id and have them run it and see if there are any outstanding liens on the vessel. All liens must be registered to the state. If you follow these procedure no mater what you will own the vessel.
  14. I paid Wiley $2000 for mine. Infaltion
  15. What type of message are you trying to convey? In my opinion they say different things.
  16. I bought a wheel it cost me 2000 dollars. Wiley will do anything for a few bucks
  17. I belong to a BBQ forum. Yes I like to q and smoke cigars. The owner's TOS is ridged. No politics no sex jokes no misbehaving no bashing of any member and he runs it with an iron fist. Amazing how if you want to stay how well everyone gets along. You never have to worry about opening up the forum at home or work(god forbid I would do the later). No avatars or sigs that could get you in trouble. It can work I have seen it for three years. The politics and member bashing ban works great to keep the board calm.
  18. Tell the IT guy that your productivity will increase if you don't let it through the filter. You need time to wind down from all the stress.
  19. I am sure it is somewhat like the Coke Pepsi thing at restaurants only bigger. There is a monetary gain by the manufacturer to rig their brand. Also there maybe a standardization for the boat companies. I am thinking it must be well worth their time to rig a certain brand.
  20. Does anyone in the know; know if there will be a for sale section down the road?
  21. WILEY can't draw but you get the idea.
