  1. For under $250 look at the Eagle FishEasy 350C. Eagle is made by Lowrance. You can get a larger monochrome unit for the same price range but the color screens are nice.
  2. Look at the rating on the tires. They are stamped on every tire sold in the U.S. Find a tire where Traction = A, Temperature = B and Treadwear is 420+ and you'll have a good tire. Nothing against any name brand but the numbers stamped on the tires are a pretty good indicator of the quality of the tire. I've got a set of B.F. Goodrich (A,B,500) on my truck that have 60,000+ miles on them and are still in good shape. I think I paid less than $500 for a set of four from Sams balanced and mounted.
  3. A Panda goes into a bar. He sits down orders a meal and a drink. The waiter brings him his meal. 20 minutes later the waiter comes back and pick up the empty plate. As the waiter walks away the Panda pulls out a gun and shoots him in the back. The Panda starts to leave and the bartender shouts to him, "Hey buddy you just shot my waiter. Where do you think you're going?" The Panda turns and replies, "I'm a Panda." Then nodding to the dictionary the bartender kept to settle arguments the Panda says, "Look it up", as he walked out the door. The bartender dumbfounded by what just happened grabs the dictionary. He finds PANDA - A black and white Asian bear that eats shoots and leaves.
  4. Nu-Finish is what I've been using for several years. Easy to apply and outlast most of the other stuff I've tried.
  5. Never seen blue crabs while down there but that's not to say they ain't there. Lobster and stone crabs are more the norm in the Keys. Lobster season doesn't open until the first week in August normally but catching them is totally different than blue crabs. Know the regs if you decide to try and catch anything. There are a bunch of local eateries in the Key Largo area and a few places where you can purchase seafood in bulk. I can't remember the name of the place but on the Atlantic side just as you get on Paradise Key which is just South of Key Largo there is a seafood place where you can buy fresh catch at a reasonable price. Turn left at the first light after the bridge then turn left down what I would call an access road that parallels A1A. Have fun down there. We probably aren't going this year due to other commitments and it's killing my wife.
