This really sucks!!
For 2009, the minimum size limit will be 21 inches, compared to 20.5 last year. The bag limit will be two fish, down from four. Additionally, there will be a split season:
Open May 15 - June 15.
Closed June 16 - July 2.
Open July 3 - August 17.
Closed thereafter.

Ahh, point taken.
Joe - seems like you are right on track and will be in perfect position for the spring striper run.
I hope so, usually the bass are ready to chew on bait by the end of April

I saw an ad for Reel Boating at THT , then got the e-mail a day or two later

Covers off, zincs are on, batteries are charged, waiting for my mechanic to finish a few items and the detailers to wax it up. Bottom paint goes on this week, and am going to hopefully launch the second week of April if all the work goes well and as scheduled.

My name is Joe, I fish out of Lindenhurst LI, I fish both inshore and offshore. Each season I try to make at least one trip to Montauk usually around mid-August, and stay at the Montauk Marine basin. I'm single, and 56, currently working in downtown Manhattan.
My boat is a 2001 Henriques 28' Express, powered by twin Volvo TAMD 41PA 200HP diesels.

Avatar looks great, it's easy with that MS resizer.

This is terrific....Thanks!

And 5th, that's the one I'm using too

Hi Capt Paul! A little bit west of you in Lindenhurst.

I guess you could call this a "wet" boat

That's the bag!! ACR also has a large one too, I already have the large one, and never used it cause it's way too large to store on my boat I've got a lot of room on board, but that large bag is just too big. The ACR RapidDitch is the right size for most smaller boats.

Here's a couple of nice videos that explain the system

The detailers at my marina use the Makita circular buffers when they do my boat and it comes out beautiful every time. I once asked a friend that owns an autobody shop the same question about what to buy, and his advise to me was to have the detailers do it, because if you apply too much pressure you'll damage the gelcoat. He also told me that I would probably be sore for a week from using it.

"Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods."

Mike and Joe, you have some awesome boats. Mike, yours looks like a screamer. I bet that thing moves when you get to stretch it's legs. Joe, yours seems like a great size. Big enough to be dry and comfortable, but small enough not to have to own an oil company. Sweet rides.
Thanks, I'm getting ready for my 8th season with her, only burn 12-14 GPH cruising at 23kt, great boat for the current fuel prices.

Hello back at ya, and welcome

Thanks, I just bought a new camcorder over the winter, and hope to make some nice videos once the season starts up here. If you get up this way you've got a standing invitation to sample some of our Long Island fishing.
