  1. Hi,

Great fishing in March in the Keys.

    Wahoo, Mackeral.....

Many different places to stay, based on your budget, but book early. Feb/March definitely "season" in the Keys and the deals go fast.

If you let me know where you intend on fishing, I can recommend some great and fun hotels and "hangs" during your trip. Key Largo, Marathon, Islamorada, Key West??

Ever consider the Out Islands of the Bahamas? Can also extend a good rate based on how many are coming over.

    Let me know!

    Cheers!

*Rentors may park empty trailers on their rental property...providing at least 25' distant from center of roadway...or, use temporary trailer boat storage at the city lot...$50.00/week, $100.00/month...info/forms available at KCB City Hall (same building as US Post Office and KCB PD)...caution...posted 25 MPH speed limit enforced in KCB...Oh yeah - I repeated that, I know!!

Marie's Boat Ramp ...Oceanside...closest, quickest, and easiest route (by land or sea) to KCB, Atlantic Ocean, and Vaca Cut...this is the ramp the area marina's (without ramps of their own) use/recommend...

(Soft bottom, though...LOL!)

Thirty Third Street Ramp...Recently completely renovated...re-opening ceremony Thu 05/07/09...new double-wide prestressed ramp; extended sea wall; repaved parking lot; refurbished bathrooms...

    Cost: $10.00 In/$10.00 Out

Location/Directions: 4681 Overseas Hwy (US 1) Oceanside......just east of Home Depot...entrance betwen the New Life Church and the "Law Offices"

Notes: Good ramp for up to 31 footers..."bumpered" at end...plenty of water running out to the Harbor

General notes: Forget about the ramp at Holiday Inn...totally inadaquate for launching anything larger than a kayak or canoe...directions above look complex...but are really very simple to follow, and should serve you well...any questions, feel free to IM or Email me (see Bio)...likewise, omissions/corrections/additions...also, least expensive (road) gas has historically been up at Islamorada/Key Largo...tight lines!!

    I'll keep this thread updated...

    FINE BY ME....GREAT INFORMATION!!!

    Cheers!

  3. Wow.....Incredible. Living on one of the world's busiest Inlets we are truly amazed at some of the crazy things people do that potentially can injure those on their boats or other boaters.

Still think you should be licensed to operate a boat or vessel of any size.

So many folks don't even know the simple "rules of the road (waterway).

    Thanks for sharing...always an eye-opener.

  4. I read on a well known Florida site where a buddy of mine made a post about loosing his job. (We all know that suks)

Someone made a post with a link to a company where he could possibly get a job at. Well one of the moderators deleted the link because it was not fishing related,,,W.T.F?

Inconsiderate people piss me off! I said something about it, and here is the reply I got in a PM from one of there mods,,,

Quote""(the owner of the site) really wants us to keep it about fishing. As you can see, I've left Mike's thread up, which is our way of saying we empathize with someone losing their gig. And we (the mods) will get just as many complaints from members who are currently unemployed as well, yet respect (the owner of the site) wishes to keep the conversation to fishing talk.

This is not FS forums and he really wants to keep it that way.""end quote.

Correct me if I'm wrong,,,,but don't most of us fisherman that post on these forums try to help people out,,,especially when they need a job?

    Man that pissed me off!!!

(If I'm out of line with this post just delete it...........I had to vent)

Fisherman who play together.....pay together. If there is a personal issue, we have always stuck by each other and helped out when needed. We have supported our fishing buddies through time of war, death of a loved one and the good times as well.

  5. The iTunes app store.

Very cool! Check out Shazam! If you are in a restaurant, elevator, etc. and hear a song...just go to Shazam App, hold up the phone and the phone will tell you the Artist, Album, where to buy the song and the music video.

We've been having a blast with this app!

    Cheers!

  6. I just received my I Phone today. I save $100 and purchased a reburbished model, nothing wrong with it. I love this phone. I still have my blackberry so I guess I will have both for a while.

    Hi!

I absolutely love my iPhone. Have had it for a while and love the App Store and the ability to quickly get my emails...Complete workstation away from home.

If you haven't already...check out the App Store, especially Shazam! We are having a blast with it.

You guys need to come down for our Reel Boating Annual Rendezvous in July! I can get us on a boat or by air.

    Cheers!

  7. Thanks Mersiles and Island Girl,

I was supposed to be down last weekend to check out Jupiter Pointe but had to cancel. Will be down in a couple of weeks to check it out. Will check out Jonathans too. I think I've passed Seagate in Tequesta but didn't realize they had indoor storage. Will look into them as well.

    Thanks again,

    JollyMonNJ

Cool! Let us know what you find out.

    Cheers!

  8. Bob, I think it's a great idea. I know some of the guys don't care for the Saltwater

Stuff. Glad to hear we made the right decision on the trip. Maybe this weekend!

Danny, Where have you been hiding? Long time, no speak! When are we going to go fishing? I'm trying to get as many trips in this year as possible. You really need to try and go with us sometime. There's usually 4 or 5 boats, and you're more than welcome on mine.

    Welcome Lake Lanier Bunch!!!

    Glad to see you again!

    Cheers!

  9. Hello Island Girl,

Every time I click on the Abaco Beach Resort add I get redirected back to the ReelBoating site. Might be me, but it may need some attention from Wiley.

I'll just get on the Abaco site directly in the meantime.

    Thanks,

    JollyMonNJ

    Hi,

Yes, just waiting for new site info, then we'll link. Don't want to redirect until this is up. If you want to go direct, check out www.AbacoBeachResort.com

    Thanks!

  10. Hello all,

The Admiral and I finally found our second home in the Jupiter area. With our son off to college we have spent a good portion of the winter enjoying our new digs. Only thing that would make it better for me is to have my boat in the area too. This question ends up on almost every forum so here goes. Can anyone recommend a rack storage facility in the Jupiter area? I have seen Sea Sport and it would do but with the talk of there renovation/expansion project I don't want to get caught having to relocate. I know of a few others but was hoping to get some local knowledge.

    Thanks in advance,

    JollyMonNJ

Hi, Just up US1 in Tequesta, right on the IC, there is a new facility, Jupiter Pointe, that offers dry rack storage. I also know that Jonathan's Landing Marina, just over the IC bridge on Indiantown, also offers the same.

I also believe that Loggerhead in Riveriera Beach and Palm Beach Gardens are also planning to offer the same.

Check them out! Let me know if you need further info! Welcome to beautiful Jupiter!!!

  11. Yeah, yesterday was a washout. Got there right around 1230, great parking, (if you have 4WD). Skies opened up right when we were at the ticket booth so we decided $20.00 buys a lot of beer and headed for Carlos and Pepe's.

Got some friends headed down from Boca to try again this morning.

We're going to try it today. If all else fails, Carlos & Pepe's is open today, too!

    Cheers!

  12. It hasn't friggin stopped raining all day! I need to get out of the house so I guess I'll go suck down a few beers and a steak at Outback. Its pouring again so I guess I'll have to wait some more.

The flea market must have sucked today, glad I went yesterday. It was a beautiful day yesterday to....and now look at it.

And of course around Wed or Thurs the stupid weather people said the weekend was going to be nice with only a slight chance of a sprinkle, And on the days they say its going to be a washout its a nice day. I would love to have a job that pays that much and also allows me to be completely wrong all the time!:angry::angry::angry::angry:

Ok I guess I'm done pissing and moaning about the rain. All I can say is that it better be nice tomorrow or I'll friggin.................stay inside again.

Very true, but our lawn and plants are finally happy. Not much Inlet traffic today, just a lot of boats running in from the rain who went out early and heard it was going to be a nice day.

    Cheers!

  13. Hi y'all. We are a couple of Americans living in the Turks and Caicos Islands for four years now, running a 25 foot Contender CC. We catch dolphin, YFT, wahoo, cerro mackerel, grouper, mutton snapper etc. You know, the usual.

Hi and Welcome! Sounds like a "Cowboy in the Jungle" (great Buffett tune).

We'll have to get down there to check it out. I represent a great Resort in the Abacos and told Wiley (I'm the other half) that I will have to get him over to fish the beautiful chain of Islands, especially the Turks and Caicos.

    Enjoy!!!
