  1. I once had a guy who worked for me who felt picked on and persecuted in an unjustified manner. The truth of the matter was that he was roundly disliked due to the manner in which he treated the ppl with whom he was supposed to work. His condescending and generally-assholeish attitude, one wherein he projected an un-earned superiority to those with whom he interacted was the alpha and omega of his problem. The problem was that he refused to look in the mirror and consider that maybe, just mmaybe, it was the way he presented things that made him nearly universally despised by those around him. It was sad to see that it was his actions/words/attitude that ultimately made him useless to the company and I fired him. I pitied him in an odd way but, as is so often the case in these situations, he brought it on himself. At the end of the day, it was addition by subtraction...

  2. As far as lodging in Key West, depends what yer looking for. As it's a honeymoon, congrats, BTW, I'm thinking full service hotel or B n B. The Hilton is nice, but I prefer Southernmost (my fave hotel on the island) or the Reach (Waldorf property) further from town. There are so many good B n B's it's hard to narrow it down. Google them and if you see one you like, go for it. Most are as advertised. You sure you want to stay @Bud's on yer honeymoon? Not exactly posh digs. Graet fishing, accomodations not so much. Consider the Cheeca, Chesapeake, Moorings (higher end) or Casa Morada (cool spot by a great restaurant-old FL feel), Ocean Dawn of the Islander (less expensive, but nice). A TON of great restaurants in both places. In Isla, all are good, but avoid Bentley's. Stick with Lazy Day's, Ziggy n Maddog's, Morada Bay, Pierre's...

  3. I might be selling the SeaCraft if a deal that is coming along is as good as it seems, so I thought I'd throw this out there to gauge any real interest. 2001 32' Master Angler, twin 225 Optis with 540 hours (spare pair available, 2004's with under 500 hrs on them). New (July 2010) RayMarine C120 chartplotter w/depth module, Simrad radar and AP20 Autopilot, Fusion MP500 stereo (New July 2010), 5 live wells, massive fish coffin box forward with equally large storage underneath it (coffin box on hydraulic rams). New Awlgrip paint in August '10. Engines were gone over extensively and are in very good condition, new cables, new style throttle/shift controls, Rupps Top Gun Riggers, custom removable gin pole, Bottom soda blasted and ready for barrier coat and paint. GREAT boat in very good condition that I had no plans to sell but I might be looking at a classic "offer I cannot refuse" scenario on another boat. If anyone has interest, please let me know...

  4. 16"-20" of drifting snow in southern NH. My garage doors face ENE so I had 4 foot drifts against the doors extending around 15 feet out, diminishing to about a foot deep at the end. Middle of the 80 foot driveway averaged a foot deep until the plow pile at roadside at 3 feet. Over 3 hours with a big Husky snowblower. No need for P90X this morning...

  5. Man, you guys should have seen all the goombahs and their floating peckers in the Keys this weekend. The Key West boat races were in town and they were blasting all over the place up as far as Islamorada where about 30 of them gathered @ Holiday Isle with the Enviro-cops hanging in the channel until they left. Silly, but sure does look fun...
