  1. And yeah, I like the blue because it matches the boat.
  2. Doing some reading on these cameras. So far I like the JVC GZHM200AUS Hi Def Everio Digital Camcorder - Sapphire Blue for the recording to dual SD cards. This way I can fill the cards, date them and put them away for future viewing. Plus it seems to have some other nice features. This method gives me the option to record and play later without a DVD player. I don't even own a DVD player if you can believe that. With all the channels and On Demand I get with DTV who needs a DVD player.
  3. DJ, That stand alone DVD burner for the JVC is one of the things that made me like this unit. I'm not saying I refuse to use the PC to transfer video to DVD but I like the option to completely skip it.
  4. Perfect....it should suck any crappy weather away from South Florida for the weekend. I haven't been on the water in a month and I'm jonsing.
  5. I know my hard drive is loaded with trash and its slowing down my computer. But.....I'm not sure I want some web site all up in my hard drive removing things. Just because it didn't delete your passwords, photos, programs, ect doesn't mean they didn't make copies for their personal viewing.
  6. Hey DJ I think I'm digging the JVC in blue, but not just because of the blue. Saw it on Amazon when I did the search. Looking at the stats it seems you can use it as a still shot camera as well....I like that so we don't have to carry two cams. But does the video store only on the hard drive or can it be stored on an external card? I couldn't locate that info. Here is what I wish to avoid......the need to hook the cam to the computer to extract video. I can't stand having things hooked to the computer. It seem like every time I try this I have major problems. You should see what I did to the last fax/copy machine that ran off the computer...ever see the movie Office Space? LOL ...Now I have an old fasion stand alone manual fax. Let me know what you think. I will be happy to buy the cam from you and shoot a fellow forum brother a little biz even if you have to charge me MSRP.
  7. Yeah something electrical for it to show on both guages. But if he is really unlucky then he could have lost both oil pumps. But like billinstewart said not much goes wrong with small block Chevy's. When he though he lost oil pressure did any alarms go off? Did the engines get hot? If not then he likely still had oil pressure but wasn't reading it on the guages.
  8. Thanks David, thats what I was looking for. When it comes to boating stuff I'm pretty good but when it comes to choosing cameras I'm an idiot. I don't really have a preference as to the recording but Limbo seems to think a memory card is the best way to go. I think I agree. I guess what I am looking for is the ability to record a couple hours of footage and when I want to watch it I can plug the camera into the A / V jacks on my TV. Then remove the recorded information and store it for future viewing.
  9. Price range.....I would like to keep it around $500.00 if thats possible.
  10. Ok so now that I have a new baby I guess its time for that video camera to document some of his actions. This way me and the wife can watch them when he goes off to college and laugh and cry. I don't want anything to complicated or big or expensive. I'm not sure the best recording method to buy weather it be DVR, DVD, memory card, VHS or Beta. Ok I'm kidding about the VHS and Beta. Any suggestions?
  11. Thanks guys. Yes, it is like nothing else.
  12. I love Sirius, I didn't renew my subscription last year and they won't turn my service off.
  13. Thanks guys for all the kind words. Wiley....the wife was actually very good and nice. She got the epidural so she actually felt no pain, but the hours of pushing exhausted her. He didn't want to come out so the Dr. had to use this suction cup with a handle attached to help him out. What a sight that was. He put this suction cup in her and on top of the babies head. Then it somehow sucks itself to the head and the Dr was pulling with all his might. I was about to crap myself watching that. But all is good! The baby is adapting to the house and we are learning his wants and needs which is making it easier. We didn't get much sleep last night. I think I got 3 hours and the wife got none. Ludi....I will definatly get him a boat bed like that when he is ready...very cool! Yes....time flies! I am 35 but I still feel like I'm 18. Now I'm a father which puts me one step closer to being an "elder". Its Friday and boy am I ready to knock back a few beers after this week. The wife feels the same way but unfortunatly can't drink yet because she is breast feeding.
  14. Thanks for the congrats. Yeah I'm on no sleep right now. Sinse waking up at 8am on Monday I have had only about 6 hours of sleep. And I went the first 41 hours without closing my eyes once. Thats like a shift on Deadliest Catch......well minus the 40' seas and freezing spray.
  15. I have seen them for sale on the late night shopping channels. They do look like nice watches but for that price I would stay away from any of them with "gold" on them. Its likely a thin plating that will eventually wear off. I am a little bit of a "watch snop" myself, or maybe a better term is a watch fanatic. But unfortunalty I can't buy all the watches I want. I have two really nice Seikos that I have had for over 10 years and they still look and work great. But these days I can't find myself putting anything but a Rolex on my wrist. I have two Submariners, one 2 tone with the blue dial and bezel and one all stainless steel. The way I see it is if you are wearing a watch thats going for that Rolex look then it should be a Rolex.
  16. Labor..............................................16 hours! Pushing for......................................3 hours! Total days living in the hospital......3.5! End result........................................Priceless!!! Say hello to my new boating/fishing buddy......James. Born August 18th 2009 at 6:39 am. He weighed 8 lbs 11 ounces and was 22" long. For my somewhat petite wife this was no easy task. It was a long and rough delivery. My outlook on life and how we enter this world is forever changed.
  17. Damn I can't stop watching the video. LOL. The "flippy floppies" part and the "I F##### a mermaid" part are super funny.
  18. Definatly a funny video. Its been out for a while. And it was filmed in Miami's Biscayne Bay if you can imagine that....LOL Now....why do they only have one radar going? Everyone knows you need both radars on when you are on a M##### F##### 100' boat 2 miles from shore. LOL
  19. My boat is ready, its docked right out back ready to take a ride after the storm to see how many people DIDN'T prepare their boats so they sunk.
  20. No big deal, we had 50 MPH gusts here today along with all day long heavy rain. I know the local news (channel 7 especially) is foaming at the mouth at the idea to be able to report massive property and life loss.
  21. Yeah I'm going to pass by your pad one day. It won't be for a little while, whith the wife pregnant I haven't made it down your way in a while. Shes ready to blow any day now so I'll be back in action soon.
  22. What I am noticing looking at the boat is the guy wants everything to look uniform. Thats why there is at least two of everything. He can't have a kicker on one side and not the other. He can't have an air horn on one side and not the other. Same with the engine controls, life ring, TV antennas ect. LOL....I bet when he gets people looking and asking about the boat he is flattered when in reality 99.9% of those people are really laughing. And read the questions at the bottom of the ad. There is a Whaler dealer interested. I bet he wants that thing just to park in front of his lot to attract attention.
  23. 12 fenders on a 22 footer? Not enough! But stay away from me if you need 12 fenders.
  24. This was found by a member on the other side. I had to post it here! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2001-22-BOS...6.c0.m245#v4-33
  25. No outcome, I am not very good at doing "firmware" upgrades. Every time I try stuf like that I really F things up. I am still having to reset the router 2-3 times a day.
