  1. I know you don't work in Bimini but I'm sure word travels through out the islands. Any word on the Big Game Club? I know they shut down last year and there were rumors that they were opening back up this March.
  2. I went this morning. It was the usual crowd and the usual amount of junk and decent items. I bought a few nick nacks....no patty wacks though. Unfortunatly I went right after a big breakfast at like 9am so I wasn't in the beer drinking mood yet. I always like buying $5 beers from the hot Bud girls. There were the usual hot "trophy wives" walking around too.
  3. Osprey.....The thread size on the 2.4 helm I got from you has a 1/2"-13 thread size, that I can guarentee you. The Teleflex has a 3/4" fine thread (not sure of the threads per inch). It wasn't a big deal for me but for a less handy guy it might be. Hare2....no auto pilot. Just your standard 2.0 SeaStar helm and cylinder with tie bar setup.
  4. Makes perfect sense! I would be one of those "move on" customers if the boat I was looking at and liked was only available with the power I didn't want. Because lest face it, All the new boats these days are very similar in their class and we are willing to adjust to a slightly different hull but not will to sacrifice the engine we really want. Its true...the new boater who doesn't have much if any water time won't care what engine is on the boat. He will believe whatever the dealer is telling him. But for guys like me that have been on the water our whole lives, nothing a boat salesman is going to say will make me buy a boat with the engines I don't want. Hence.....a lost sale.
  5. There wasn't a real noticable difference between how they operate, ofcourse I'm speaking about when the Teleflex was new. It was working like crap for the last 2+ years of its short 3 year life. Both are very smooth (when working properly) turning lock to lock. However I will say this. I like the U-Flex a lot better right out of the box. One thing I hated about the Teleflex/Seastar is that when you trimmed the engines all the way up the engines would fall to one side or another. The U-Flex helm keeps the engines straight. The price on the U-Flex seems to be better as well. And the U-Flex will work with your Teleflex/Seastar hoses and cylinders. You just need to use the hose fittings from the Teleflex helm and install them in the U-Flex. I will say the only thing I didn't like about the U-Flex is the thread size for the wheel nut. If you have a destroyer type wheel or any wheel where the nut is hidden its no big deal. But if you have an Edson type wheel with the fancy nut it won't fit. So unless you are handy enough to drill, tap and put a heli coil in your nice wheel nut you will be stuck with the plain 1/2-13 lock nut. I did the heli coil thing and it worked perfect. Teleflex customer service......pretty much doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. Thats why I switched. Hopefully I won't need U-Flex customer service but if I ever do I hope it goes better than my experience with Teleflex.
  6. I couldn't agree more. Boat companies that use one engine brand EXCLUSIVELY (as I have seen it put by some people) don't do it because they think its the best engine. They do it because they are either obligated by contract or because thats the brand they make the most money on. Either way its all about money.
  7. THaT other site is already looking a lot less active. The mods must be sleeping because there is an active thread about this place.
  8. Naaa....word is out. I'm sure FD is aware of this place and I'm sure he will show up soon enough.
  9. Am I the only one that got a nice Rolex Yachtmaster from Wiley as a gift for signing up?
  10. Ok guys you all know that unless you have an old scow Scarab with E-Tecs you are stupid..........No wait its the other way around. You are only stupid if you have an old scow Scarab with E-Tecs. You are only a good, smart and courtious boater if you have a boat less than 1 year old with 4 strokes. Even if you refuse to name the boat you brag about. Oh sorry.......wrong forum.
  11. I guess you're sending out emails in alphabetical order based on our usernames because I didn't get no email. I stumbled upon this joint.
  12. Why do I feel like I'm late to the party? I knew the site was coming up soon but I was thinking I would get a notification right away. I only found out about it tonight as I was brousing dockside at THT. There was talk about a thread that was deleted. Anyway......I'm here now so you can all carry on.
