Wow the Mariott is $388 per night! That's too much for me. Doesn't have to be fancy just a place for a couple of coonasses to crash. Would rather it not be a roach motel though. $150-$180 would be nice. Gary

Making plans to attend '09 Miami Boatshow. Have a couple of questions. Where is the best place to stay that is affordable? Must one rent a car or can you get around using taxi?

Here's a link: http://www.lifetime.com/lawn-garden/...-storage-sheds Ps....I don't expect it to be "lifetime". Just last 5-7 years. "Lifetime" is the name brand.

Anybody have any expierence with them? My offer was just accepted on a new construction property. I will need a small storage shed to store the lawn care stuff. I was looking at the 8' x 10' lifetime shet. It's $1100. Didn't have any local to look at. Seems to me plastic would be the best thing as it would not rust or rot. Any advice? Thanks, Gary

Can't make it Monday. I hope to get on the mangroves this coming Saturday. Hopefully I can catch a ride out the following weekend to put a few red snapper in the boat. Gordan........you see any Bluewaters (boats) over your way? I really want to give a 2150 a rundown, but there are none up here. I won't be able to make it to Florida until next srping (propably a good thing). Gary

Thank you for the advice. I am gathering the documents required and will start calling mortgage brokers in a couple of days. Gary

Fiance and I are ready to buy our first home. My credit is pretty good (745 I think maybe higher). Her credit is crap (520 or something like that). Should I just use my information to get the loan (better chance at lower rate)? Or both our information? I've been a Chase bank customer for 15 years or so. Do I go to them for loan or a Home Mortgage specialty place? How do I find a good home mortgage specialty place when there are so many? There must be 10 places just on my way to work! Thanks for any help. Gary

Why Red I use your knot to join my braid to the leader of courese! I've mostly used the 80# (PE8 which is labeled as 100#). I use about 20-25# of drag with no problems. This was for butterfly jigging for AJs and grouper. I've only used the 55# briefly on one trip. I don't remember if I caught anything or not. These are all butterfly jigging outfits and I joint my short (4'-6') leader with red phillips knots. Gary

Red, Do you know if it's the same as the boat braid without the changing colors? I really like the boat braid. I've got 3 lines spooled with it. I have one spooled with the 55lbs. Only used it once, seems fine. Gary

That's why I hate bass boats! Every one I ever rode in was just like that.

The Knob A woman visited a plastic surgeon who told her about a new procedure called 'The Knob,' where a small knob is placed at the top of the woman's head and could be turned to tighten up her skin and produce the effect of a brand new face-lift. Of course, the woman wanted 'The Knob.' Over the course of the years, the woman tightened the knob, and the effects were wonderful, the woman remained young looking and vibrant. After fifteen years, the woman returned to the surgeon with two problems. 'All these years, everything has been working just fine. I've had to turn the knob many times and I've always loved the results. But now I've developed two annoying problems: First, I have these terrible bags under my eyes and the knob won't get rid of them.' The doctor looked at her closely and said, 'Those aren't bags, those are your breasts .' She said, 'Well, I guess there's no point in asking about the goatee...

Al, I agree to a point, BUT Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes have the lowest unemployment rate in the country. This along with the mass exodus from Katrina have really driven up home prices in the area. The other thing we have to worry about is flooding. The Houma area is very susceptible to flooding. However the 12 acres I own in Lockport is above required elevation for building. So I'm pursuing both avenues (building in Lockport or buying in Houma). The homes under $200k (what I would really like to pay) are all crap or in flood zones. Realistically I would like to be in something by October, but if I can't make it happen I'll stay put. Gary

Please check out the site: (http://www.safewayhomes.com/default.asp). It's placed on a slab and bolted down if I've read it right.

I've been towed and towed plenty of people. I would never leave someone without power just because I'm worried about them sueing me. If it's too rough to safely tow then I would stand by the boat until Coast Guard arrived. Sure it's ruined a couple of fishing trips, but I learned about 10 years ago that I will never leave about that is without power (someone left us). Gary

link to video is not working for me. I want to see it! -
I'm looking at housing options. Trying to weigh out all my options. I've have land to put a home on, but I'm not limiting myself to building on it. Anyway I've taken a gander at Safeway Homes (http://www.safewayhomes.com/default.asp). They seem pretty nice. Does anyone care to share an informed opion about modular versus stick built homes? Do modular homes appreciate just as stick build homes typically do? Could a modular home be stronger than a typical home as the website touts? My goal is to be in a home by October since I'm leasing an appartment now and don't want to sign a new lease. Any tips, reading, etc you can give me on buying a home would be great! This will be my first home purchase. I've got high 700's credit, have had a job with the same company for 14 years and make pretty good money. Thanks, Gary

Nice ride! Is that the new style 237 or 216? How do you like it?
