  1. Wiley I think that most of us are adults here and probably spend time on many forums, if people posting the names of other forums that they frequent is seen as threatening then I think you have underestimated many of your members. I for one found out about your new site because it was posted on another forum, I still spend a lot of time there, and I will spend time here, the two forums are very different. In fact the three forums that I posted are very different from each other as is the reason that I joined. I hope that you continue to be reasonable about this matter because rather than the listing of other forums being a threat I think that ovezealous moderation would be more threatening.

just my $1,000,000,000,000 worth (inflation you know) it is your forum after all. :)

  2. I have to point this out. That means that instead of having a 500 lb outboard bouncing around on the transom, you now have a 4000 lb boat bouncing around on the outboard.

So every time the boat moves up and down on the trailer, you are transferring that force to the outboard??

I just don't buy it, I think these products are nonsense. Has anyone actually seen a transom fail that WASN'T due to good old fashioned rot?

The boat is strapped to the trailer, how can it bounce up and down?

  3. The thing I don't understand, and maybe I am just slow, but how does the MYwedge save your transom? The weight is still being distributed the exact same way, right down the trim ram, just now it is also through the MYwedge. I can see how that saves the hydraulics but not the transom. Does anyone use those extensions from the trailer up to the lower unit? Those seem like they would not only save the hydraulics but also redirect some of the weight into the trailer and off the transom.

My bracket slots into the trailer and around the lower unit.

  4. I was following a brand new 25' boat down the motorway (freeway) and it had a big evenrude (I cant remember the exact HP) and it was bouncing all over the place, so much so that it really drew my attention to it. That stretch of road would be amongst the smoothest in this country, and most roads are not that good.

I use a steel bracket for mine, adds about 30 seconds at launching or retreval, no big deal if you ask me.

  5. I guess I am the only TRUE southerner on here so far, from way down south (somewhere around 36 deg south in fact, and a day in the future, although that has been known to change depending on how much I have had to drink :1992_beer_cheer:) I have been accused of shagging the odd sheep but I choose to take the 5th on that. I am kenergy here, there and also there. I hope this place can maintain some level of decorum but seeing some of the members who have been allowed to join, I doubt it :2261_high: Anyway good to see some of the old faces from other places and I promise to play nicely.
