  1. Sailor, I think the majority of people would prefer to use a marina with floating docks (at least finger piers). It makes it easier to get on the vessel in my opinion. I did a full floating dock with 5 slips 20x60, for some condos I did in Beaufort NC. Shoot me a PM and I can send any info or pics, if that would help. I don't know where you are located, but I used T.D. Eure in Beaufort, to do the work. Chuck Bissette that owns the place, is a great guy and does work up and down the Mid-Atlantic. They do top-notch work.
  2. Naw, but I can hear the galley cook cussin' the Captain from here!
  3. Exit Strategy out of Radio Island, NC 25 ft. Parker 2520XL Yamaha F225
  4. My son and a couple of his fraternity brothers went March 3rd. He informed me at dinner the other night it was a 56# wahoo, a 28# blackfin, and a 32# and 35# yellowfin. They fished the Big Rock. It was 19 degrees when they left the dock. The spray was icing on the boat. When they got to the stream, the warm water with the cold air made it so foggy they could barely see. He was showing some pics on his phone. As soon as he sends them to me, I'll post them up. The wahoo is HUGE! Here are the pics:
  5. Whoops. No record here. Just a slip up. Should have been a 28# Blackfin. My bad.
  6. Just logged on, looked at the bottom and saw we had 1000 members! Last member registered was CH23. Well that didn't take long.
  7. So when you lay down on the trottle, is it like flushing a commode for fuel consumption?
  8. Thanks, Joe. Those were a couple of great videoes. Very informative. Who would have thought a pizza oven could provide a false positive for the old analog signals?
  9. Ludy, that ahsrescue is a sweet site. Thanks for sharing it.
  10. My son and a couple of his fraternity brothers went 2 and a half weeks ago. I stand corrected on what they caught, from my previous post. He informed me at dinner the other night it was a 56# wahoo, a 48# blackfin, and a 32# and 35# yellowfin.
  11. Name is Doug aka Seahawg aka Pookie Married with teenage daughter so my sanity is definitely in question! Also have a son who is at State, who is a firefighter, EMT, 100 ton Captain, and Dive Master Live in Raleigh, but go to our little concrete block bunker (second oldest building on the island) on Emerald Isle as much as we can. Have a lot at the end of Taylors Creek in Beaufort where I hope to build my retirement home. Due to change in economy, said retirement is now scheduled for 2049 when I'll be 94. To keep the wolves away from the door, I sell Electronic Medical Record systems to pee pee docs (Urologists). Fish a 25' Parker out of Radio Island (actually I let it sit on the lift and grow rust, as much as I get to use it). 12. Yeah, me too. Especially those trophy wives, Chris was talking about!
  13. You're a brave man, Wiley. Letting this nefarious bunch of ne'er do wells, loose on their own forum. But I trust your judgement. Thanks for the faith. I'm sure Daddy Spot will keep us in line.
  14. Might also contact the boat manufacturer, and buy some off them.
  15. Lucy, you got some splainin' to do!!!!!! I sure wouldn't want to be the man at the helm of either of those two ships. This will be talked about for a while. Makes you wonder with all the men watching all that electronic equipment, how this could happen. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
  16. Man, that took long enough. What's it been, two, three days??? Shheshhhh........
  17. Now you've got to admit, I was a cute baby!
  18. Cute boat. Nice to see how the other half lives. I couldn't afford half a fill up. Wiley, I'm curious how this inletcam works. Did you set it up on a pile? Does it shoot continuous, or ever so often? Is it hard wired to source or wireless? You've piqued my curiousity.
  19. Usually there will be a seam between rooms and the hallway. Just have them move all the furniture form one bedroom into another, put down the carpet in the empty room, move furniture back in, and repeat. Since it is multiple rooms and not just one big room, it shouldn't be a problem. And be sure to buy the biggest, baddest, thickest padding you can get. Will make the carpet seem more luxurious, and doesn't cost much more. Good luck.
  20. I bought a couple of oars, just in case it goes back up!
  21. At the risk of sounding like a McDonald's commercial, I'm loving it. Think out loud all you want, Wiley!
  22. Total agreement. And Wiley, did you have an email address for Smallwood? You have got to get him back!
  23. That's one bad looking ride. Now all it needs is some rod holders!
  24. I don't know... but can I have the pick of the litter?
  25. Welcome trout. You almost gave me a heart attach though. I caught a glimpse of your name, and for a minute I thought Trouty was back. In case you don't know, Trouty was the character of all characters from another board in another day. Nevertheless, glad to have you as part of the group.
