  1. Problem fixed! I had checked all the filters including the VST filter on the pump.

I checked for spark and none of the wires had spark. I thought this myight be caused by the Crank sensor, (all my coils wouldn't go bad at once), switched it with my other motor, still nothing hapened and the other engine still turned on.

Checked my fuses, the big 80 amp block ones on the side, turns out one of the connectors was dirty. cleaned it out just b/c i was there, I didn't think it could be that simple and the engine turned on. It apears that it just didn't get enough juice to start.

  2. I saw the white one with a freind an few months back, the nonskid had been repainted and when you looked at it closely it was pealing off and when you looked inside the hatch on the starboard side next to the cc the stringer looked like it had a 1/8-1/4 " gap/crack from the hull.. it was scary looking. The broker told us it used to be a tender. Anyways it's still for sale and it a white 98 w/yamaha 250 2stroke. Ibelieve it's was priced in the 60's.

  3. It was my 2 yr olds b-day so we sang happy birthday had some food and walked down to the marina to see the fireworks, She thinks they were for her. It was a great night. Then we came back and played a couple of round of dominos.

The crazies were everywhere, we saw boats (from the safety of our marina) without any lights. Nutz!!!!!

  4. Spoke to my friend with the 98-356 today, he says he gets 1.1 mpg at around 35-37 mph not sure on the RPM he has my same engines. He says it tops out at close to 50 mph, my 32 does a consistant 54-55mph (3 guys, 100 gallons and fishing gear).

I boarded the boat, hands down it's a much bigger boat and the cabin is a real cabin w/ ac, full bath, on board generator. Much more acomodating. If I were to do it all over I would probably get the 356 or the 366.

Intrepid has a 2000 366 that looks brand new with twin 350 yamahas, apparently redone at intrepid, high priced but fun to look at.

  5. Two things that do suck, the remote oil tank on 2 stroke engines are all the way in the back of the bilge area, to replavce the pump or the little oil filter I had to remove the entire hatch which is 6'x 2.5', a pain in the @$$.(specially if it gets clogged while your out on a trip)

4 stroke yamahas are a very tight fit, if your engines are up and you turn the wheel +_ 25% the engines rub the hull, my boat is in the water so sometimes the movement tilts my engines over. I think it was 03 or 04 when they redesigned to accomodate 4 strokes. I believe the zukes work though and definitely the etechs.

Something I will need to consider when it comes time to repower.

These are just 2 things I would change(intrepid did in the new model).

That was the fealing I got from the 35 after being on my 32.

My fresh water intake is on the starboard side under a hatch just like the gas is on the other side. the older models I've seen 98,99 have it unnder the helm seat, not as pretty but functuional.

My boat gets 1.3, 1.4 mpg with my yamaha sws 250 2stroke, 28-29 gph at 4200 rpms, and aboat 38-40 mph.

I agree with your access complaint I have no door to get into or out of the boat, I always jump over the transom, however I am not a diver.

The wiring is one of my favorite things on the boat everything is easy to locate and labeled. The hatches I always compare to other boats and they are great you can store stuff for a 2 week trip to the bahamas with no problem rather that having everything strapped down or flying around on deck.

Over all I love my boat, and I find it easy to work on.

  7. I think it was 04 or 05 when they started the rotating head, it's a nice feature. They also changed the access under/into the L seating so that it opens up more for storage around the same time.

There is a fish box/ optional livewell behind the helmseat that might accomodate a small generator, I've thought about it, but I don't know if it's worth it.

  8. I have an 02 322 cuddy it's a great boat, fast and has a soft ride, I have a buddy with the 356 cuddy, I have never been on it while moving but I can tell you it's wider by about a foot(my 32 is 9'6"), which makes it feel huge also the cabin is also much bigger it has a small galley, a bathroom, and a generator for the a/c. It's much better equipted for overnight stays.

My 32 has an a/c which I power with a honda generator, the porta potti is under one of the seats and the cabin is much smaller probably similar to the one on the scarab.

However the 32 is easier to trailer, uses less gas, no generator to maintain,& less of a cabin to fuss with.

I love my boat and I 've had it for almost 4 yrs & I don't plan on changing it but I sometimes wonder about the 356. The only boat that temps me a bit.

  9. I replaced my impellers on my 2-02 250 sws after 250 hour, I didn't want to spend the $1200 the mechanics have been charging me for the last two years, to my supprise i could barely tell them apart from the new ones. I replaced the wp housing and bottom plate that had never been changed. I also did the entire 100 hr service including all 4 thermostats, I don't plan on paying for this service any longer. I spent a tototal of $320 on parts and it took me about 5 hours for both engines.

Oh I forgot to say, My boat is in the water, there was an additional charge of $275 to pull it out, This time I just borrowed a trailer. Saving like this I will be able to justify buying a trailer in no time.
