  1. Next time you visit the factory, can you ask a question for me? I was wondering if Young ever built a 27 center console. There is a really awesome boat with YOUNG 27 on the side. I am not sure if it was built by them or the custom builder Glenn Young. I am just curious, so it is no big deal.

You're going to have a beautiful boat with an awesome motor. I am the biggest fan of Suzuki Marine's 4-stroke line.

    Very Nice!!!! :1992_beer_cheer:

  2. I believe the beer sales were way down. I bought much less beer than usual.....reason being......I was in and out of the show in 3 hours where I normally spend at least 6 hours there.

I suspect many people spent a lot less time there this year. I got to the show at 10 am on Saturday and I parked in the lot right next to the convention center. I recall a bunch of cars that pulled in the exact time I did were gone before I got to my truck.

Spent all day Friday there, I did not give my license to the gate keeper, I'm sort of interested in a 32-34 Cuddy but did not see anything interesting. The 32 Intrepid is a rather sparse design and I don't like a stepped boat, especially with their price tag.

Short list is the 34' SeaVee cuddy and 34' Venture Cuddy.

  3. Thanks for the info, you have the boat I am considering getting sometime early next year. You say the head is under one of the V berth seats? Do you know what year they started putting in the rotating head under the step in the cabin? I really like the feature.

Also...you say you use a Honda gen to power the AC. Is there room under the deck anywhere for a built in gen?

Me and Emud are on the same page. LOL

I have looked at both the Jupiter & Intrepid cuddies and 31' WA Intrepid and found the 32 Whaler cuddy to be better laid out boith from a cruising & fishing perspective.

  4. I have used Shipyard Island Marine on 3 occasions for parts, they were at my house in two days and saved me about 25 percent off of the cost locally. I also know if I have a problem I can call Andy and he will do his best to talk me through a problem or email me a solution, which he has done in the past. He is top shelf.

I always purchase from SIM! Maybe Wiley ought to pay Andy a personal call.

p.s. Wiley My Pups avatar is badder than yours! :1143_neener_neener_neener:

  5. First off, the resin used in the manufacture of fiberglass gives off a distinct odor for days, weeks, or even months, depending on the resin chosen, lay up conditions catalyst level, etc. I'm not sure that it would be the best material for a humidor unless you were prepared to let it age for quite some time.

If you still want to build from glass the you can do as was stated by nitz for a quicky mold that will take some post-finishing to make it look decent. I would use melamine instead of MDF. The plastic finish on the melamine only needs one coat of wax and will allow easy release of the part. It will still need post-finishing, although not as much.

If you want to build really nice parts you would need to build a pattern (also known as a plug) and then a mold. The pattern is made to look exactly like you want the finished part to look and then a mold is built off it.

Find a chinese company, they can copy anything well.

  6. :239_fishing: I wanted find the best time out of the Miami area or the keys for catching peanut size doplphin. Size does not matter as I would rather catch more fish vs size so the kids stay happy. Besides peanut dolphin make for nice size filets and good eating.

How far out would I need to go? 20-25 miles is my usual range.

    :rb-rules:

    Go tommorow!!! 600 to 1000 feet, trolling/ blue/white colors. :239_fishing:
