  1. Nate, never heard back from you. If you changed your mind please edit your post ASAP so other dont think its sold. Thanks.
  2. Like all things boating related, I am sure it just broke, the warranty just expired, the guy that can fix it is missing, and the parts are on back order.
  3. When I woke this morning, I found Jim Cantore strapped to a palm tree in my front yard, Is that a bad sign?
  4. I have a little orange bungee thingy that goes on the steering wheel. I have an Armstrong dive ladder and there s no chance of me getting on plane with it down. I did bend the bracket trying though!
  5. I have heard that antifreeze works well for the same reason it kills/prevents wood rot.
  6. Wet depends on wind and boat. No wetter than standing back there or sitting in my little jimp seats. Bags go on my t-top with a dockline across them while fishing.
  7. Its a very expensive mild acid. You can buy something like The Works bath cleaner which is oxcalic acid for about one 1/10 the cost and its works great. Barkeepers friend, Rust Aid, etc etc are all very effective and inexpensive.
  8. I just dont understand going through the aggravation of mounting tabs that you dont have control over. Real tabs do so much more (like retract as to not effect fuel consumption/performance when not needed and adjust to balance load).
  9. Dont use the continous spray sunblocks for starters.
  10. The blades are not really any thinner. The whole X-7 alloy thing is a bunch of marketing hype IMO. I have an Enertia and just had it lab finished. I had a micrometer all over it and compared to a Mirage and Rev4 it is no thinner. I think the only reason it is so light is the hub carrier and splines design. Why has Mercury not made any of their other props from this magic alloy? Becasue there would be no difference in weight or performance and the cat would be out of the bag. The Enertia works the way it does becasue of its unique design. Works for some, not for others. I havent got any hard number on my labbed enertia yet but initially the results look good. I hit the same top speed I run light with a full load so far. I was able to get 3mpg loaded light up to 35...maybe 36mph before. The other day I checked quick and was getting just over 3mpg at 39mph with a half tank and 4 adults...plus cocktails!
  11. I just towed someone in the Keys and I will tow anyone who needs help. Be a good samaritan and help others out! The downfall of this society we live in is this BS fear of being sued. My tow story: http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/...eople-suck.html As far as a tow line, next time you change out your winch strap, keep the old one for an emergency tow line.
  12. I also use Tilex. It will bleach your cloths. Contains a version of bleach but also some detergents that suds up. Seems to work better than bleach alone. When my boat is parked I open or prop up the lid/cover onevery enclosure I can short of pulling deckplates. A little airflow helps a lot.
  13. I am not a believer in any of these additives or their claims which can never be verified independently. I came across this website that explains how the additives can be harmful to your engines. Whether you use them or not, its a good read. You will see that most of these products actually contain alcohol ie. ethanol or a "proprietary" ingredient listed as a solvent. Alcohol is the problem in the first place and solvents can be harmful when they wash lubricating oil film from the bearing surfaces and cylinder walls. Evinrude Fuel Conditioner is 95% alcohol!!!!! Stop wasting your hard earned money and save it for the day when you need to have the tank pumped. That is the only fix that works. http://www.fuel-testers.com/review_gas_tre...t_products.html
  14. The black plastic ring clip that locks my Armstrong ladder in place often turns and my ladder floats away. I called Armstrong to see if they had an updated part with no luck. I was going to install a pin or bungee when I had the idea to replace the plastic clip with a stainless steel hose clamp. Works perfect and you can snug it up enough that it will stay in place yet still turn to release with some force. Just turn the clamp until the worm gear is under the bracket. I went ahead and cut off the excess hose clamp and smoothed all the edges
  15. Take it to a plastic shop. They will make it look like new for about the same as what you will spend on material and they wont screw it up. Thats what I did.
  16. Can I get a GPS number for the area in front of your lens? What would be the best way to contact you when we are in the nieghborhood? We arent good with schedules
