  1. A man walks into a bar and sees two stunningly beautiful women, one sitting on each side of the bar. He flips a coin, and sits down near the one on the right. After a minute, he leans over and says, “Hello, could I buy you a drink?” She says, “No, I’m a L E S B I A N” Undaunted, he says, “That’s OK, I’d still like to buy you a drink” “You don’t understand, I prefer women” she answers, getting a bit testy. “That doesn’t matter to me, I’ll still buy you a drink” She looks right at him and says “Let me say this as clearly as I can. See that beautiful girl over there on the other side of the bar?” “Yes”, he answers. “What I would like more than anything else this evening would be to strike up a conversation with her, ply her with alcohol, take her back to my apartment and make mad, passionate love to her until dawn!” She looks back at him and he looks pale and sweaty. “What’s wrong with you? You look like you’ve seen a ghost” “Oh Lord, I think I’m a L E S B I A N too!”
  2. My parent's house never had central air unitl many years after I left home. We slept with the windows open and fans going in the summer time. We never had a color TV either. I think they got one when I was in college. Beleive it or not, you can live with out air conditioning. Just like cold, your body adjusts and you are not as uncomfortable after a while.
  3. I like the first one. Granted, it is too busy, but #2 was too hard to read, so to me they are kind of equal in that regard. But #1 is more attractive and attention-getting. I say improve on that one.
  4. A friend of mine (Dave) used to tell the story of his first trip to the grocery with his wife just after they married. He was about 21 and had never really been grocery shopping before. As they went through the store he picked out some nice steaks, but his wife put them back and got chopped steak, saying "honey, we can't afford those" He picked out some of his favorite snacks, but she put them back too for less expensive items. Then they got in line behind a family headed by a big unkempt, dirty looking guy in a cut-off T shirt that hit him about mid beer belly. The guy had his cart full of good steaks and the kind of stuff his new wife just said they couldn't afford. When beer belly pulled out a stack of food stamps to pay, Dave just went off. It was so bad they had to call the police. I don't think he went to the store much after that.
  5. Good post there Mango. I got a spot back in January and tried it out around Sanibel/Captiva in February. Works great. I tried it out at my house when I got it, and my buddy who got the email could even tell that the unit was sitting in my back yard, as opposed to the front yard. For the price its neat as hell.
  6. And Aqualung. For some reason my memory of Jethro Tull is mixed up with memories of a bong we manufactured from parts pilfered from chemistry class. Memories are funny that way, aint they?
  7. Damn you guys are making me feel old. I bought my first house in 1978 and it had central air. Was not a new thing by any means then. In fact the unit on that house was fairly old.
  8. Good decision. I've had a 1987 Montauk for almost 20 years now. Great boat for lots of purposes, especially for 1 or 2 people. I have been wanting a swim ladder like you have on yours to replace a kicker motor bracket mine has. Is that a Whaler product? Can you tell me anyting about it?
  9. Yep, I think it is the "young guy in college" part that is important. Way to go Blue B
  10. He and his boss are captives of the big ag lobby and the AGW fundamentalists. Expect more deranged stuff before its over. Wait til EPA is regulating CO2 under the Clean Air Act. You aint seen nothin' yet.
  11. No B&J up this holler I live in here in Appalachia.
  12. I never really had any problems with any mods over there--guess I'm just middle-of-the-road-non-controversial. But some of the members are another story. The atmosphere is often unnecessarily adversarial and confrontational. Some guys are just sitting there waiting to lay into somebody else. Takes the fun out of it. In spite of that, I still found it very informative and helpful. Hope this site gets to that same level but leaves all the kid stuff behind.
  13. Having a lot of time helps. I saw the Mythbusters on the paper boat the other night. What impressed me was that the sawdust & ice mix was bullet proof. Quite a demonstration.
  14. I had one of those once.... Only it didn't have the mask, the filter or the goggles.
  15. I don't live on the coast, but have boated a lot out of Marco Island. Kept my boat there til last month and may take it back next fall. Hope to retire there some day.

  17. I think I'm sold. Looks like a helluva boat.
  18. If I were you I'd go ahead and spring for that new boat while the market is down.
  19. I just learned that the Michelin tires Sears put on my Ford Excursion (which pulls the trailer ) were 4 ply tires, when the vehicle calls for 8 ply. It was actually another Sears auto center that caught it when I went to have the tires balanced after about 6000 miles (I was getting a wobble at about 60 mph)--they checked the lable on my door panel which called for a "D" tire and changed them out for 10 ply Michelins giving me 100% credit on the old tires. They handled it well, but sure makes you wonder. I talked to the original Sears guy at some length about the fact that this is a heavy vehicle and I would be towing a heavy trailer, loaded up with family, etc. I figured he knew what he was doing.....
  20. One word: economy Speaking of which, GPH? or per second?
  21. Based on everything you say, sounds like 15s may be the ticket.
