Great idea
I removed one but I wasn;t trying to save the block. The debond works but you have to apply at each level o 5200. The garroteb idea sounds like it might work. Then you could use the block as leverage to breakaway the 5200 from the inside pad.

If you ever contemplate deep dropping or daytime swordfishing, then it makes an awesome conversion to electric....... spooled with 130 braid and mounted on a 130# bent butt rod. LMR or LP directly can handle the conversion.
It would make a good eletcric reel! or put it on a short rod and use it for your dredge.

Thanks for the input guys. I have a strainer for the AC but relocating it for both sounds like a great idea.

Definitely use a strainer and I agree an independent thuhull is the better way, but sharing source should work especially if its just at the dock

I have found any sort of grit even the smallest piece of shell stops it. have you looked for debris
