  1. "Do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do,

    Do not wait to shed your light afar;

    To the many duties ever near you now be true,

    Brighten the corner where you are.

    Refrain:

    Brighten the corner where you are!

    Brighten the corner where you are!

    Someone far from harbor you may guide across the bar;

    Brighten the corner where you are!

    Just above are clouded skies that you may help to clear,

    Let not narrow self your way debar;

    Though into one heart alone may fall your song of cheer,

    Brighten the corner where you are.

    Here for all your talent you may surely find a need,

    Here reflect the bright and Morning Star;

    Even from your humble hand the Bread of Life may feed,

    Brighten the corner where you are. "

    (thats always been MY motto!)

    oh BULL CHIT..!!!!! hahahahahaha...!!!

  2. Could anybody explain me why some people on these forums needs to post just to antagonize and get people mad about anything... just for the kicks????

    I've noticed some threads were its obvious that the OP is JUST trying to stir the pot and get somebody to fight over something he does no believe or even know about it....

    Some people even wear it as a badge of honor!!!! "ha!!! look how many responses I got" or "look how many responses I got or how mad people I'm getting"

    Could anybody explain me this???

    Hope they don't get that bad in here...

    They want the attention - you said it yourself: they even wear it as a badge of honor based on views or number of replies or whatever. I've known people that just want to try to out-debate you like it's some kind of sport and so they start a controversial topic. They bait you and if you can't ignore it, then they've hooked you and the fight is on.

    Best thing to do is just ignore it. They want attention? Don't give it to them. Don't feed the need. I know the words seem trite but most people either won't or can't seem to do it. My favorite is when they start with the PMs. I don't respond. I don't give an inch. Nothing. And I find eventually they go away.

    That works too but then I have to remember all my passords 'n chit. :o:o

  4. Wait just a second.....did you just say "work"? You are in T&C, aren't you and Gringo supposed to be on a beach with an umbrella covered drink or something?

    Not every day is a beach day! ;)

    P.S. We need a better "wink" emoticon. That guy looks like he has a serious problem --->>> ;)

  5. The devil went down to Caicos, he was looking for a soul to steal.

    He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal.

    When he came across this bald man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot.

    And the devil jumped upon a cypress stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what:

    "I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.

    "And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.

    "Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the devil his due:

    "I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."

    The boy said: "My name's Gringo and it might be a sin,

    "But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

    heh, heh, heh... if ONLY...!!!! :blink:

  6. where would i do this?

    IE7 btw.

    Joe,

    Next time you log on... log out (you should be on the Reel Boating Forums page). Scroll down and just above Board Statistics is a tiny link for "Delete all cookies created by this site" (or something like that) - click on that. Then log back on and see if that makes a difference.

    I've been having the same issue and just tried it. Will let you know!

    LG

  7. I am a member of several forums, including FCB and SFC. I am hardly ever active on the other ones, just checking in from time to time or when I have a specific question I am researching. I am on forums for Sailing, Cruising, Catamarans, R/C helicopters and aerial photography, a Land Rover forum in the UK, a knee rehab group,a couple woodworking and tool sites, and now here. I am still a member of Continuous Wave, the Boston Whaler forum, a panga forum, etc. that I rarely visit. That would be question-specific. The Land Rover forum has saved my butt, with those guys talking me through a clutch replacement, etc.

    I was banned for good from THT, and also from a snooty sailboating forum in the UK. They would tell you that sometimes I don't play well with others. Especially them.

    Gosh... it's a wonder you have time for anything else..!!! :1143_neener_neener_neener:

    ... and you forgot the fiddle forum... :P

  8. Hey there Gringo, La Gringa. I am an avid reader of your Blog. Gringo, I also want to thank you for the technical information about the inner workings of editing and adding pictures to Blog.com. You inspired me to start a Blog to keep family and friends up on my fishing and boating antics.

    You guys need to spend some time learning bottom fishing off the reef. There has to be some snapper and grouper outside of the reef. :239_fishing:

    Hi Mr Pat! Thanks for all the great comments you've posted.

    I've bottom fished on the reef here for years but prefer the open water fish like mahi, tuna and wahoo. I had a bout with ciguaterra about 11 years ago and am not anxious to repeat that experience. :1925_:

  9. glass is fun but not really necessary. it is almost never glassy here. i see you're really liking the kayak thing.

    I put up some photos of two of my boys on that post on the other page.

    But anyway, I am loving the kayak thing...!!! The only thing I miss about living in the States really is mt biking. It's simply not safe enough to bike on the roads here and there aren't enough "back roads" without traffic for a decent ride. So this has become the next best thing. Did a nice couple of hours yesterday with my youngest son who is visiting on his spring break and now he is hooked too!

    Glass is better for bad knees and bad backs when going at a high rate of speed. I will say tho - the Contender handles it a lot better than the panga did! :)
