  1. I was under the impression it just was made available so there may not be many iusing it as yet. I looked at it at the NE Boatshow and neither I nor the electronics tech could figure out any way to pick out any individual AIS transponding vessel icon on that little screen and access it's relevant data. The manual had nothing about that in it.

It appeared to the tech & me that the benefit of the Matrix AIS radio is the fact that VHF & (receive-only) AIS system would only require total 1 VHF antenna, whereas apparently most add-on AIS systems require their own separate VHF antenna .It's possible that only applies to 2way transponding systems though, not sure.

Since most brand new better-quality chartplotters can display AIS (when interfaced with proper AIS equipment, presumably the input from the Matrix AIS radio would allow full access to the data to be displayed on the chartplotter. Older chartplotters would not work if they can't accept the necessary AIS NMEA sentence(s).

That radio does have fog horn and PA/intercom output features also, I believe.

It will interface to my chartplotter. Apparently it will recieve only but that is a big bonus to at least have that and it should be easily readable on the 4212. I guess so new not many people have it yet.

  2. 99% of automotive finishes are applied with a 1.3mm to a 1.5mm fluid tip.

With primers you will need a 1.6mm to a 1.8mm Fluid tip.

Hey,,,I forgot,,,,I have a slightly used spray gun for sale. (I professionally painted cars for over 25 years)

Its a DeVilbiss StartingLine with two fluid tips. A 1.8mm and a 1.3mm

Its got a small chip on the cap from where I dropped it. I did not drop the gun, just the cap. It does not leak.

Ive only used it about 4-5 times.

Its just the one full size gun that came in the kit. Ill take 60.00 dollars for it.

    Rick,

Thanks for the offer. Does the chip affect the spraying? Also, what is the model/number? If that was a 2 gun kit, is this the larger gun or smaller gun?

  3. We hit a glitch with the USB connector. Could probably track down another but Miami is a zoo right now and it would take the better part of the day.

We scrubbed the live feed for now.

Wiley thanks for the update? I am a little slow, No I am a lot slow and spent 15 minutes looking all over the place for the miami live feed? Sheit happens hope ludicrous puts some still pictures up for us soon> Thanks again for trying this wiley? This is like virtual boat show tour from my living room couch. It shouldnt work but sounds neat. I have been a part of miami and lauderdale shows in the past and I guess I am just getting lazy and cheap?

    I did too Bly :1898_::1898_::D

  4. I had a couple small leaks in my 14' Aluminum boat so decides to strip the inside and fix the rivets and seal it with Gluvit. I have been looking around for what primer and paint to use. I'm being told it needs to be a self etching primer. I have checked over on Iboats under the aluminum boat section and they suggest Zinc Chromate for the primer. I'm used that before on weapon systems and it works very well but i've only found it in spray cans. What do you guys suggest for primer and then paint for aluminum. I am going to put some sort of non-skid like rhino liner/grizzly grip inside the boat and primer repaint the outside also.

    What do y'all think?

    Thanks,

    Doug
