Free up space on your computer
Limbofish replied to Mike F's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
You want bullet proof operation, none of the problems stated above? Buy a MAC, you'll never go back. No registry, no virus, no problem. Have a 3yr MacBook Pro............Replaced a battery...........FREE. Never a problem with the OS, a few issues with Microsoft apps, but hey, what do you expect from MS? Great tech support by people that know the Mac OS, and as a big bonus............THEY SPEAK ENGLISH....REAL ENGLISH. -
Keep the non water resistant model. No need for 2. 2MP still images are same resolution as iPhone, 1st generation...Happy snaps at best. Stay away from spray, keep it dry and you should be ok. If you buy an extended warranty as I did, ask the sales rep if it cover water damage/corrosion. Mine didn't and I got screwed by Best Buy after they told me it was "unconditional".

Got a NIB unit. Dialed it in...........FABULOUS
-
Used with Garmin 4208 GPS. Garmin is sending me a NIB GSD22 overnight. Will receive tomorrow. You have to fight for your consumer rights. I demanded a NIB unit but they never disclosed they were out of the new ones and back ordered. So they send me somebody else's problems. If you don't keep these mfg's ass to the fire, they walk all over consumers. ARE YOU LISTENING GARMIN????????

Go with a large capacity memory card recording mechanism. No moving parts to break. Loads video thumbnails to an edit system immediately The camera should be "Hi-Def", 16x9 widescreen. There are many fine editing pgms out there and I'll be happy to walk you through the jungle. I am a video expert in shooting and editing. I filmed my daughter's life, converted 18 years to DVD's. I edit a family Christmas video annually. Always a crowd pleaser. PM me and I'll send you a link of my marine industry work.

Airmar TM260 Transducer NEW
Limbofish replied to Limbofish's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
Still waiting to mount mine on my transom. You only get 1 shot lining it up and drilling holes for the lag bolts that are long. Any suggestions how to properly line this beast up? I found a spot midway up the transom from the keel. I put a flat board under the boat extending beyond the end, put the 'ducer flush with the board pointing straight down. I think when I'm at plane, the 'ducer will not cause any wash/spray in this position. I'd appreciate any thoughts before I drill and plug with 5200. -
Saw the entire show. Produced by Thomas Beers, who produces "The Deadliest Catch". Same story line, same interviews, same characters. Only thing that changes is the catch: Swordfish, tunas and whatever else eats the bait and dies off the 40 mile long line set. Of course they don't show the dead by-catch. Pretty boring these reality shows. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I'm returning a refurbished unit for the same problem the original new unit had. Unit powered up once, then nothing. Reading 12V ok on power cable. Has anybody else had this problem? This is not what I expected from a company as Garmin. Instead of sending me a new unit, they send me a "sub assembly" refurb. Not what I expected. Any feedback appreciated.

I cancelled my Sirius account because of this problem with the disc antenna used in car/boat. Why should they care? Stock is trading at $.38/share.

Bunk Trailer: Proper way to retrieve the boat?
Limbofish replied to Striper In's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
A safety note on tightening the strap: Last Monday I helped my Brother get his boat on the trailer. Winched it up to the end stop, drove it up to level ground. He wanted to tweak the strap and while holding the winch handle with his right hand, he released the latch safety clip from the gear and then in a split second, WHAM. The frigging winch handle came flying around at high speed and whacked him like a sledge hammer on his right pinkie and finger next to it resulting in surgery, 3 pins (1 permanent) for 2 finger bone fractures. BE CAREFUL OF THOSE WINCHES BOYS. Is this a lawsuit for a defective design or pilot error? -
If you move to Florida, work out of your truck, do excellent work, you will succeed. By not having shop overhead, you will be able to save customer's hard earned cash. There's thousands of "spaghetti farms" of horrendous wiring out there.

Lee Miami Riggers (Lee's Tackle)
Limbofish replied to eliteftlaud's topic in Boating and Fishing Discussion
I disagree with all of you enabling this prick. I say to all of you, including Wiley, go to the CEO and tell him/her of these bad manners. In this day of extreme competition in this rough economy, if one of my employees ever treated a customer like this guy Steve, I would have called him in the office and given him his last payday. You will never be treated this way at Rupp Marine, Stuart. You can walk in the shop, chat with the guys that make the stuff and they will hook you up with whatever you need on the spot. My personal experience and I don't work for them. -
Quick tip on protecting gelcoat when drilling pilot holes. Run the drill in reverse when penetrating the gelcoat, then put it in forward. This prevents gelcoat spider cracks down the road.

Was watching a show from Bud ' Mary's, "Catch 22" on daytime broadbill fishing. Can anybody share the concept of how and where to tie the breakaway 10# concrete weight. I think they made their concrete weights by putting the mud in a coffee can with a metal loop on top for the line. How does it break away when a fish strikes? Thanks for any diagrams or info.

Just hit the market last week. For boats 25' up. High speed a reality. Dual beams. Should be a hot item. Anybody installed one yet. Reviews? This will eliminate putting a hole in your keel for a thru hull. Airmar finally gets it. MSRP $793.

I hope those racist/rednecked hate everything old men that wear their military service on their sleeves (except if they agree them) members from THT stay away from here. You/they/we know who they are. I hope you quickly put the kabotz on troublemakers that try to ruin a good thing here at RB. -
