  1. i'm trying to figure out where i need to set the drags on my reels vs line strength. all i've ever done is made sure that i could pull line without breaking it, i'm getting a little more serious now, so i want to do everthing correctly. thanks for the input
  2. 90% of the time they fail from running with loss of prime or when barnacles obstruct the impeller. also, they must be mounted below the water line of course.. they are one of the most reliable pumps in that size range though.
  3. i'm 99% sure that you may have open containers on a boat as long as the drivers BAC is below the legal limit. i dont think there is any stipulation on where the location of the open containers are... i'd be interested to see what the exact law is...
  4. nowadays i gotta believe price is among the considerations and i think chris' lights appear to be the best bang for the buck around. ocean led makes a good light too, however they spend a ton more on marketing etc. so they are going to be more expensive... blue is a nice, white and green seem to go further distances... (at least around here)
  5. prices, sizes? nice looking lures i need a nice big teaser too, you make those?
  6. very cool thread, how similar are penn internationals? i'd like to know how to service my own reels if need be. (i.e. when i'm too broke to pay someone to do it )
  7. what the best place to bring an RV and a boat on the lake? need 50 amp service for the rig and a marina or boat ramp.
  8. they told me that they already had one higher I'VE HEARD THAT MANY TIMES FROM THEM
  9. very interesting, sounds like Bob was right on the money. i'm curious to see what happens with the fountain
  10. Just put a new 5208 on this little girl: DO NOT like the way I have to go about her menus to get her to show me what I want her to...Kind of makes me think about going back to RayMarine or Furuno... what is that goin to be a 26ss? i like that console better than the one with the clear acrylic hatch... or maybe they did mine aftermarket..
  11. thanks, starting to make a little bit more sense. i wish it would warm up too! i could see my breath outside just a minute ago... maybe i need to migrate down to cuba or something. hopefully the cold will turn the bite on next week though..
  12. i have a question for you ken or anyone else that knows, i always thought that 3 blade props gave you more top speed and 4 blade gave you more acceleration. my question is, if you have three engines i.e. 3-350's like in this case, why wouldnt you use 3 blade props for more top end? i gotta believe with the 3 engines it would still be able to pop it out of the water just fine... i must be missing something, bc i aslway see multi engine boats with 4 blade props instead of 3....
  13. I have a lowrance lcx17c, i wasnt happy with the depth range and the temperature was not working, so a few months ago i replaced the transducer with the best one available (split freq. and highest wattage or whatever) the depth range i'm now very happy with, however the temperature still doesnt work, is there a seperate ducer? there is a small piece of metal in the ducer which i assumed was for temp, but maybe not. the reading i'm getting on my screen is 32 degrees (flashing i think) any help is appreciated. Thanks
