  1. My first boat is my 12' Ocean Malibu Kayak...hopefully I will be able to upgrade soon to a real boat that is not self propelled!
  2. I posted this over on THT but I thought I'd post here also and there are people with different opinions. Hello everyone. My fiance and I are getting married in May 2010 and we are going on a week cruise for our honeymoon. It is the most cost effective trip as we already live in S. FL and won't have to fly anywhere. I like the eastern Caribbean, she likes the western Caribbean (she wants to see the Mayan ruins). As we are still a year out, there is plenty of time but of course we are excited and are looking now. Initially there was only one or two cruises available but now more are coming available. Can you guys give me your opinions on either the cruise company or if you've been on it, the exact ship? The prices are estimates as they could change over the year Carnival Valor (Western Carribean) ~600pp Emerald Princess (Eastern Carribean) ~850pp Celebrity Solstice (Eastern Carribean) ~850pp Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas (Haiti, Grand Cayman, Conzumel & Jamaica) ~850pp To give you and idea, we will both be 27 when we get married. The Solstice and Freedom of the Seas both appear to be incredible ships but I've heard that Carnival has improved in recent years. My parents went on a Princess and loved it but there also double my age! Thanks for your opinions!
  3. Beautiful boat! Were you able to snap any other photos?
  4. Great pics Wiley. I couldn't imagine being in one of those for any more than a few hours too cramped for me!
  5. Waddill: Did you end up making the trip over? How was it? I had a friend who went over on Friday and came back today. Did you take any pictures?
  6. Sally- This could be a dumb suggest, but I thought I would say it anyways. Could you possibly put one of them on your boat? I don't know what size boat you have, but if large enough, you may be able to rig something up. If not, I think your only suggestions would be, as mentioned, tow it over or have a company bring it over for you.
  7. Sounds like the place is coming along nicely, can't wait to see the new things!
  8. I may be a few days late, but hope you guys had a great birthday!
  9. Those are great kayaks, but too expensive for me. I've seen them on the water when I've been kayaking and I know that is what I am going to upgrade too one day. When are we going to plan a Reelboating kayaking get together?
  10. Glad to hear your had a nice day out on the water and at least there are no major issues. Did you do any fishing while you were out there or just cruise around?
  11. Thanks for posting, looks like a great day out on the water, how were the temps?
  12. Paul, love the pictures. I think I could look at pics of Alaska all day. How much land do you live on and also how far are you away from a large city? It appears that you live in the middle of nowhere!
  13. I agree, I have had Sirius for about 3+ years now. I got rid of it in early March 09 and got it back 2 weeks later because I hated FM radio. I do think they should let it be free on the internet especially for you guys who have 2+ radios. I know I won't pay for it. I'd like to see Sirius XM get a payment option where say you pick 50 stations for 7 or 8/month. Out of the 140 stations, I only listen to about 20 or less.
  14. Interesting project that would be. Just curious, by the look of the stern it looks like it had twins on it, what would it have twin 115 or 90s?
  15. Great first 6 weeks and it seems that the forums are growing really well!
  16. Gorgeous pictures! Alaska is a place that I will someday visit.
  17. Wiley- Will you be taking still shots of the ships?
  18. The yacht Reverie is gorgeous! Not the rest of them are ugly, but that one is a favorite of mine.
  19. Not a bad looking little boat. Looking on Trophy's website, it is a part of the "Rolled Gunnel" line and for a base price of $12k with a 50hp 2-stroke, it is very inexpensive. Can someone briefly explain how a "rolled gunnel" differs from the "standard" CC?
  20. I thought about suggesting the Pathfinder but wasn't sure how it would handle 10 miles out and if the weather turned a bit rough.
  21. I found this site I believe through a comment made by Menzie in the "Sailors" post. I am glad I found it. I definetly noticed THT changing over the past year or so since Wiley sold it. I continue to go there and post as it is an active forum, but I will now frequent this site more. I tend to ask more questions than answer but I am still learning all this stuff. Not to mention, I only own a kayak.
