  1. TheOtherLine and I are going out about 45 mi for grouper and AJ.
  2. you could move my "30 minute BLUE job thread" http://reelboating.com/forums/?showtopic=797 and maybe this one.... http://reelboating.com/forums/?showtopic=815
  3. the grapevine tells me a violin may be in order these days. welcome to the club.
  4. .........because my neighbor still calls them to dinner every night out on the front porch, and the guest list has remained the same. when i take the garbage out at night, i see them over there in their own yard chasing possums away from the food bowl........another reason to bring the cat show indoors at night........possums and racoons.
  5. sorry man.....can't do it. the letter implies that i would be OK w/E10. ANY amount of ethanol in a non-closed fuel system, such as a boat, is unacceptable.
  6. i probably resemble that remark.......when ever the Admiral says it's my turn to use the boat....entertain me....we cruise up the coast and come thru Clwtr Pass and down the intercoastal to get a bite at the Pub. Not the "Pub" but at my house everybody gets a fish dinner.........see i do like cats.
  7. no one was lost.......read the link.....they just had more fun on their side of the fence. Carry on.
  8. as i have reported in other posts i was fortunate enough to have a two day window of great wx. first chance to put the Spot messenger through its paces. hit the "track" function on a 2 day 250 mile trip. seemed to work pretty good on my end. below is a pic of my wife's computer screen. she watched the fishing trip in real time, and accessed the link at home and from work....pretty darn cool.
  9. Used some good old classical conditioning on them. Got rid of 3 cats that I know of and they have not been back. http://www.thehulltruth.com/dockside-chat/...-night-try.html
  10. well.....90-100 ft (or deeper) is the effective depth for butterfly jigging. up to 150 ft or so a 5 oz is fine. 150 to 300 i like a 7-10 oz depending on current. getting close to 10 oz can get a bit tiring after a while. i can do a 5 oz all day no problem. different species seem to like different colors just like any other jig/artificial. cudas and jacks really like the flashy silvery ones. grouper like the ones that are gold with a little red and black highlights. see the pic.....i caught this grouper yesterday in 93 ft on the aforementioned jig. yank him right out of that hole. FWIW check out buying some like new used equipment.......a lot of people can't figure out how to do it and are not successful, giving it up and selling everything on the cheap.
  11. recovering from what i did Thur/Fri.....spent the night fishing 122 mi out in the Middle Grounds. Thu/Fri wx was glass out and back.
  12. Larry M. a fishing buddy of mine trolled up this 27 plus gag out of Tampa Bay yesterday in 18 ft of water. It was quite the battle besting a grouper of this size that is still relatively green in such shallow water. He got rocked up several times before boating him. His personal best in the Bay he says. WTG Larry and Pam.
  13. classes offered by CG Aux Power Squadron in St Pete. length: i think it was twice a week for about a month.? taught by a bunch of crusty old blow boaters.
  14. Google "sex offender programs" for your area (if you have one). i live in a nice neighborhood on the water in St Pete. Last i checked there were 5 sexual predators living within 1 mile of my house.......yikes. we have reviewed their pics and keep an eye out for them. one actually walks my neighborhood right in front of my house. somehow the sprinkler system comes on just as he walks by.
  15. i am not into this DC thing but somehow got the autographs of two of the Capts on their color photo at the recent boat show. anyone want it, PM me an address.
  16. idgit. if that was my wife we would be discussing my threat.......the big "D".
  17. if you are talking about a plexiglass wind screen on a boat........i used a high speed buffer (wool bonnet) and some mild polish such as Maguires Scratch Out or similar product ( i may have used some 3M Finesse it II) and it buffed out like new.
  18. Hey Rick........man, you are not kidding about the distance to deeper water up there.....and i complain about down here. i towed up to Crystal River a few years back. i keep going, and going, and going until i finally just turned around and decided to hang out in the river. i love all the sea life that the fresh clean water brings to the area. take care.
  19. YOWZA.......i think that is the biggest i've ever seen.
  20. .......i think you are only allowed to say "poopie head" on your birthday. congrats.
  21. Gordo: Nice sail. welcome to Tampa Bay. (red) Snapper is a bad word around here right now because there are so many of those critters and we can't keep them. mangos on the other hand are a GOOD thing and probably one of the hardest to catch. you are the man if you have mastered the "mango tango". maybe we will see you at the upcoming MG meeting. ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THAT LITTLE GROUPER ABOVE IS........ that is the fish the Capt put me on......
  22. .......that or his twin brother is med student at Boston U.
  23. Great video Tom. Boat #1..........a little tab or adjust engine trim anyone.
