  1. I spent the past 4 days completely working over the boat. Finally got a EPIRB, its an ACR category 2. I also got a ditch bag and got it mounted. It has the pocket for the EPIRB but I know that it can be activated if its out of the mount and gets wet. I was wondering if it would be ok to keep in the ditch bag pocket even though it wouldn't be stored in the mount?

  2. I would add another hole. whY connection? if you want real redundancy make the plumbing seperate. Stuck check valves could render both of your pumps useless. don't trust you saftey to a coulpe of check valves

I agree the Y adds 3 more plumbing connections which are the biggest sources of failure. A good through hull with a quarter turn ball valve is a lot more reliable in my opinion.

  3. Got mine today!

    First impressions:

Looks well made and the directions are well written and easy to understand. Definitely love the fact came with batteries installed and all the correct size screw driver needed to replace them. Installation is a breeze simply pull the backing off the adhesive patches already in place and stick near the tether connection on your boat. The transmitter comes pre-programed and ready to go. The belt clip does look flimsy but no worse than my cell phone or pager.

I will have videos of the testing early next week.

  4. I can attest once you cut the spines off it is just a glorified sea bass, taste like it too. They are awesome on the grill. Anyone who wants to participate in the capture and subsequent dinner just give Nema a call her number is 252-726-9432 she's the one who is making all the arrangements for this.

  5. Underway a power driven vessel under 50 meters shall display a mast head light side lights and a stern light, but if you are under 12 metes then mast head light and the stern light may be combined in one.

At anchor a power driven vessel under 50 meters shall display one all around white light.

Basically if you are under 40 feet your mast head light and your stern light are combined into one all around white light that doubles as your anchor light.
