[Batteries Inside Console Question]

My present boat and my last two boats had the batteries in the console. I never noticed a problem.

My Edgewater and Scout had separate lockers in the console for the batteries. The Edgewater had plenty of ventilation, the Scout had none.

How much ventilation do you think the batteries get in their present location in the stern?

For the guys who trailer their boats to and from the water, I got a question about trailer bunks? Obviously, saltwater being as corrosive as it it...how often do you guys have to change out old bunks for new ones? Or is it cheaper in the long run to install roller bunks?

You're worried about corrosion on WOOD but suggest roller bunks? That makes ZERO sense.

Saltwater doesn't corrode wood.

Last year I had to replace a couple of rollers on it. I did notice a lot of surface rust on the springs. So I took my bfh to it and 1/2 inch thick chunks of rust came off the axles and springs. I have looked in a trailer parts store on line and added up the price to replace every thing under there. It came to $600+.

And a new trailer will be over $3,500.

Looks looks like an easy choice.
