  1. Ooohhhhh.....Daddy digs the 28express. It'll be awhile before I can upgrade, though...
  2. I don't know much about Kipotpeke. I stayed in VaBeach not too long ago, right near Crab Creek. Its a sketchy little channel, but real close to the bridge with alot of resturants, rentals, and bait shops right there.
  3. Probably went to the medicine man for a penicillin shot.
  4. Steve, Actually I'm going to try and get it packed and out to you today. Meant to shoot you a reply and forgot. ICM I've found the shorter you run a stretch, the less likely it is to tangle in the spread. I've used the top holders to run a long line before. I'll be trolling offshore NC next weekend hopefully for Mahi, Kings, AJ and anything else that will bite. Its starting to sound like I'm going to have a full boat with one other experienced fisherman. I might run them through some drills to get them used to clearing lines.
  5. Getting pretty good at the whole multiple lines deal from trolling for stripers! Different distances, long lines on the outside, shortest on the inside, nothing at the same depth or distance from the boat, and its on like donkey kong. I have outrod holders for the forward gunnel mount holders. Here's how I picture my spread. Longest lines in the outrodders. At the rear holders, the two straight back will be short. One deep lure like a trap or stretch, one short bait on the surface. Two angled holders will have medium length lines, maybe on of those will be on an inline or planer. Just going to have to teach my crew to clear lines really quick like....
  6. I'm gettin stoked for this trip. Wondering if anyone knows if cobia are still being caught at all inside the inlet, if I were to set up a chumslick? Also, looking for some suggestions on family friendly cruising. I'm thinking up around shackleford on the inside, depths look okay but I don't see much of a channel? Not interested in running my boat aground.....
  7. I'll be running out of Beaufort Inlet. Hoping to get offshore one day for sure, might try for 2 days if the weather is super. How far out should I expect to see cigar minnows? Do they hang around buoys and such? I might skip ordering hoos.
  8. Go to TF and PM racn35 (jamie). He has a place he has been wanting to rent or sell that might be right up your ally. Even has a dock if you want to splash the boat.
  9. Not my camera....that's the picture off their website! My boat has white gunnels.
  10. Got my bent butz! http://www.pipedreamsmarine.com/bentbutz.htm These things are the deal of the century! Well made, with neat details such as eye bolts for attaching safety lines and cotter pins to keep the holders in the rod holder. When I ordered, they didn't have any in stock and were fabbing them. For my "inconvenience," they sent me a Tshirt to boot. Just in time for my NC trip. Can't wait, it'll be great to troll 6 lines from my little boat....
  11. Your lures I'll probably just rig to the provided hook. Just thought I might troll a naked ballyhoo, and keep one or two handy rigged as pitch baits....
  12. What they said. Eeling eeling eeling. Tie a large snap-swivel to the end of your line. Tie 5' leaders of 60lb+ mono/flouro with a hook size 5/0-8/0 range. Instead of a loop, tie on another large snap swivel. When you get your spot set up, snap an inline sinker onto your line, size depending on depth and current speed. Snap your leader on the other end of the inline sinker. Take a large tupperware bowl w/ lid. Drill a couple holes in it for circulation. Soak a rag in salt water. Drop your eels on top of the rag. Place the bowl on ice. Use rags or old socks to handle the eels, which should be reasonably docile after being kept on ice awhile. Hook eel in the bottom jaw, out the mouth. Drift over channels, deep ledges, or anchor and fish eels back towards CBBT or the concrete ships. Good luck.
  13. I won't be far away, renting a place in Morehead, will run out of Beaufort inlet at least one day heading offshore.
  14. Similar question, what about rigging a naked ballyhoo on a circle hook? Going to NC next week, hoping to troll for Mahi and wahoos.
  15. Me likey!! Must have more information on your boat, as well as more pictures!! Get with it!!
  16. Yeah I got alot of that crap when I bought mine. "Your bayliner sucks!" Okay, Bayliner and trophy split years ago. Prove my boat sucks. "It sucks cause I say so" What kind of boat do you have? "30 year old sunbird......"
  17. I can't speak to tuna lures, but its not uncommon to run a larger chase bait when Striper fishing with a dredge, daisy chain or umbrella rig.
  18. Not in need of any lures, but I want a Tshirt! Do you sell Tshirts with your logo on them?
  19. I've got a used T-bag. Its faded in areas but in overall good shape. Probably hold 4 life jackets. kingair gave it to me to try out, but it won't fit on my boat and doesn't want it back. I'll send it to someone for nothin or trade for ???
  20. Here's what you want. VA Beach, inshore. Capt Ben of Above average. He sight fishes for cobia, you're damn near guaranteed to catch cobia, sight fishing from a tower. Big nasty yummy feeesh. http://aboveaveragesportfishing.com/
  21. We were planning on heading out on the Potomac for a spin. 20kts and 2' chop on the rivah is the forecast. Father's day plan is to got to a nearby park and fish for bluegills, ride a kiddie train and maybe mini golf. My daughter almost pissed herself when I told them (she's 3). "Bluegills? Yeah!.....I wanna catch a swordfish!"
  22. I'd love to have a shot like that. Nice boat, BTW
  23. I know there is a seperate thread in the photo forum, but I thought I'd kick one off here. I'd like to see some of your rigs so I know who to watch out for on the water. Sugar Mama, 23' Trophy Walk Around. Typically I launch out of Wallace's in Hampton.
