  1. I'm really gonna have to think about of one of their bait tables....
  2. Exactly why we ended up with a Walk around. My kids use the heck out of it on family cruises and fishing trips. Also, most WA's come with a wide hard top, while CC T-tops aren't usually as big. Can't speak to the Pursuit. I was really impressed with the Wellcraft 270 and 290 coastal, both of which can be had with a generator and AC. http://www.wellcraft.com/#/44/ Here's a nice 290 in Miami for cheap http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2004-Wel...OASTAL-95239806
  3. My best friend lives 5 minutes away from me. Loves to fish. Grew up on boats on the great lakes. Over the last few years he has had a degenerative inner ear problem. Gets sick if he so much as looks at a boat at this point.
  4. Looking for a crew for this upcoming saturday the 18th. I'm in Woodbridge, will be towing to Hampton to launch at Wallace's. Room for 2 at this point.
  5. Do you target cobia at all during the year? Share your secrets! I need to put one in my boat!
  6. Dude she looks great!! I can't wait to take a ride
  7. What gets me at ramps are usually people who seem like they've been doing it awhile, but are sloppy and possibly inebriated.
  8. AS another poster pointed out, your engrish reads like a Nigerian scam letter. Do I Western Union you the cheque, or will be your representative waiting for mail?
  9. Number one is very proud he learned to lip a bass. Mama is out of town....called after we got home. He went on and on about how big the bass's mouth was and that he could stick his finger in it's mouth....
  10. So, I had issues with a fishing buddy a few months ago. He kneeled and kissed ass, so I made nice. Set up a trip to take my boat out today, with my kids, and catch croaker. yeah, no. 0600 I call him. "I didn't get enough sleep, can we postpone?" you. You lost your second chance. But now I had a problem. I woke my kids up at 0600 promising them a day fishing. So we hit a local pond, rented a jon boat, and caught little fish. Havin a snack Electric motor hauling ass I caught a bass!!!!! This goose swam right up to the boat, looking ready for a hand out. Salvaged the day and spent quality time with my kids. The boy is about as hardcore as they come and can spend an entire day fishing. Good kid.
  11. My version was last weekend in NC, at the Morehead public ramp. We were just getting back in about 2 from playing on Shackleford. The ramp was busy, so I kicked my BIL off and told him to get the truck and back in the trailer. At the same time, another Trophy, about 26', with one engine up, comes right into the middle ramp and ties off. They sit there the entire ten minutes it takes for my BIL's turn to back in (after being cut off by a minivan with a jetski). They get the other boat on the trailer, crooked, and I hear alot of yelling and this and that. First, they try to yank it out while its tied to the dock. Next, its cockeyed by maybe 20degrees on the trailer. Then, the 2wd Tundra they are driving can't get enough traction to make it up the ramp. I can see the smoke from the spinning tires. BIL gets backed in on his first try and I drive on. Two minutes later we're hooked up, engine's off and trimmed and we're pulling out. They are still spinning tires. As we pull past, my BIL says "Put some of those fat ****ers in the back of your truck for traction!" Meanwhile, the other boat was still listing to the starboard on the trailer by maybe 20*. Not sure what they did to get it out, we were gone within 5 minutes of pulling out.
  12. I got screwed by my crew. Got my kids up at 0600, fed and dressed. Call him, as I was suppossed to pick his mooching ass up on the way. Nope, didn't get any sleep.....personal drama, wah wah my ###### hurts. Last trip out he had a virtual melt down on the boat. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, as he's going through a divorce, and we chatted about it. Said he was squared away, although he's still a dirty mooch. This last week, the wife moved out for good, even though she hadn't been staying there. So, he's all wound around the axle and hasn't slept. The proverbial straw that broke the camel's back was this morning....I only give second chances, not thirds or fourths. I did get my kids out on a local pond for some bluegill from a rented jonboat.
  13. Taking my daughter on her first bay trip tomorrow. She's 3. :-)
  14. Enjoy and see you when you get back! There are some cobia in that bay with our names on them!
  15. I've had guests try that once or twice. Lately I'm getting good at setting it myself. Thread hijack!!!!! Last week we were in NC, and wandered around the backside of Shakleford bank. Nice little beach, and there were a number of boats anchored. Bottom quickly pops up from 10' to 4', and then up to the beach. Swing in between two boats, BIL drops anchor, look over my shoulder to back down and set it and this son of a ###### in a skiff flies behind me, no more than 15', between my boat and the beach. He's on plane, and shoots from my port to starboard side. Thing is there were other boats anchored, and swimmers in the water. I taught my kids some new words....
  16. Anyone doing any good on cobia? Hoping to get down friday or saturday.....maybe sunday....one of those three days....
  17. Saturday was our family day, I was on a short leash. We were barely out long enough to find fish, much less catch one. My fault for taking a crew of untested sissys in 3-4' seas.
  18. www.pipedreamsmarine.com Bent Butz. These things are great! I'm totally in love. I didn't do much trolling with them, but set up a 4 line bottom fishing spread. Worked great! My new favorite toy on the boat for sure.
  19. Home now. Weather permitting I'm heading to the Chesapeake for Cobia on friday.
  20. Well that was interesting. We headed into the inlet. Tried to catch bait while avoiding one of the dredging barges on its way out, managed a full livewell of spunky 7" pogies. Beat our way out to the 8 mile buoy. 15 minutes later, my BIL is puking. 20 minutes later, my other passenger is puking. Wandered back in, found a rip on the green side west of the CG station. Anchored up and put out some cut baits. Caught a bonnet head shark and a couple rays, but my crew started feeling better and we enjoyed hanging out in the sun. Used the public launch in Morehead. Never again. With the east wind and outgoing tide that was sporty.....
  21. Keep an eye out for me this morning! Headed out for some AJ's and Mahi trolling. Saw your boat when the wife and took a walk on the waterfront. Beautiful boat, big and roomy! Looks like a great charter platform!
  22. Rich, I don't think you're going to have a fireworks show tonight. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090704/ap_on_...rks_explosion_1
  23. Had a good time on friday, anchored on the back of shakleford. Water was clear and warm, kids played and swam and chased critters. Caught a few pinfish, but didn't fish much. It was like the special olympics at the ramp. Well, the problem was one boat on the center ramp. They didn't bring enough truck for their 26'+ twin engine WA. After getting the boat cockeyed on the trailer about 4 times, they got it straight, but couldn't get the truck to pull it up the ramp. We pulled up, kicked off the BIL, he went, got the truck, backed it in for the first time like a pro, and I drove right on. Tried to offer some help and was waved off. Eff 'em. Will be offshore tomorrow, early. Should be a gem of a day.
