  1. I just finished my F115's impellers. I did both in a little over 3 hours. My engines were 3 years old and had a little over 400 hours on them. The impellers looked very good and would have been good another couple of hundred hours... When I put it back together I put anti seize on the bolts to the lower unit. I was very happy with the outcome and saved at least 400 bucks on labor if not 500 bucks.
  2. The Aspen is iscontinued??? Great!! My wife has an 08 ...
  3. After 20 years of being called to sooo many house for unruley children one thing has always been the common unlying similiarity to ALL of them. When I ask if they corporal punish their child the answer is 99 percent of the time, "No." I am so Thankful my Daddy would whip my butt, I feel a little fear of dad is always a healthy thing. I hope your little one's eye heals up quickly.
  4. No inside story...I know the owner of River Marine Supply was arrested for Dealing in Stolen Property. I think the charges were eventually dropped before trial but that does not in and of itself mean that someone is NOT guilty. I refuse to spend my money with anyone with a questionable business habits.. I dont think it was Chaos stuff, It was some lights or something.. 5. Hmmm.... if that is still the same owner, I would have a problem spending my money there being a LEO and knowing the history...
  6. I have used Shipyard Island Marine on 3 occasions for parts, they were at my house in two days and saved me about 25 percent off of the cost locally. I also know if I have a problem I can call Andy and he will do his best to talk me through a problem or email me a solution, which he has done in the past. He is top shelf.
  7. Seemed ironic for him to die that way in Bangkok. Probably for 50 bucks he could have had several women help him out and he would have still been alive... Sad way to go Grasshopper...
  8. Rich, Between experience and research I have found most bias ply trailer tires to be junk. I actually had Carlisle Radials that did a descent job for about 2 years. I have since researched many camper sites and found many campers to be using Denman Radials with good success. I have been using Denman Radials for over a year now with no issues, I would definitely recommend them and getting your tires balanced on install, it will make a difference.
  9. Rinse well, rinse often. I hope you dont get a dry socket like I did. You move into a whole new level of pain then.
  10. Hey guys, Thanks for offering the stickers... I special thanks to Ludicrous
  11. I use Green Grease also in my trailer. I would not know why it would hurt anything. The worst thing is not greasing stuff...
  12. One of tricks I have heard of is put a drop of instant glue on the corners.
  13. I was wondering if it might be the o- ring after you posted this... That was the only thing I could think of that would such a malfunction. Glad you found the issue.
  14. I always pump out my oil then every other time at the end I undo the drain plug to get the last little bit out.
  15. Maui's are good. I prefer Ocean Waves but Maui's would be my second choice mainly because they are generally about 25 percent more than the OW's.
  16. Some good points have been brought up. Again, speaking about Carnival Ships. Dining is casual, they have one formal night generally. They have assigned seating if you go to the main dining room. One thing I have always liked is the casual environment on board. When I cruise I like the laid back attitude, I personally dont want waiters wearing gloves. As long as the staff is friendly, helpful and is professional I am good..
  17. Chris, One thing that may or amy not be an issue is if the boats have a Casino.. I know some of the different boats do not. Good Luck I am sure yall will have a blast..
  18. Please post the outcome as I am interested as I will be doing my first impeller change myself here very shortly...
  19. Chris, We have done about 15 cruises (almost all with Carnival). I can't speak for any of the others but we have always been happy with the level attention and service and the food is always pretty good to very good. I think you will find Carnival is a little more slanted toward the partying type, whereas so of the others may not be. Explore the website Cruise Critic and get specific info on that cruise ship by prior guests. If you have never been to the Cayman Islands take a cruise that goes there, my favorite....
  20. I have purchased and used Andy Jr. at Shipyard Island Marine and have never been let down with his advice, service or great parts..... I now order as much of my parts as I can and save $$$ over buying them locally. I do most all my service- Oil changes, Water Pumps, Thermostats and such... He can also direct you to great tutorials available on line that shows how to do many of the common service issues on different engines.
  21. Ok, good luck with that approach you have just assured yourself of an unhappy encounter and most likely citations for any violations found... This is an officer safety issue for the boarding crew or Marine officer.
  22. Bsmit, Sorry if the use of the term lying upset you, but when you ask if you are required to "acknowledge that you have a weapon on board" that to me implies you have been asked, so if you choose not to respond that is the same as responding incorrectly isn't it??? it is not the truth?? Oh well, I hope this helped out some of you with questions..
  23. To answer your question, No not that I am aware of..... Course I would not recommend that as now your credibility is done and they will do a VERY thorough exam of your boat and of you and you will be holding citations for the slightest violation found. But sure lie to the man over weapons. Also quick disclaimer, I have been out of the Marine Enforcement business for 15 years so take my advice as such, consult your local authorities...
  24. If they are going to do some damage respectfully let them know...
  25. While it is hard to determine what aggressive is on the computer, I trust your dad knows from being prior LE when they are crossing the line. I know he wont like doing it, but tell him to call the local FWC office and ask to speak to the Major or Captain in charge. Tell him to voice his complaint and how rediculious its getting. Most of the time they will listen and speak with officers if neccessary.... I know I have had a run in or two with incompetent/rude officers also and I will pick up a phone and let someone know. I dont do written complaints unless its something criminal in nature.
