    The 5th Annual Shootout is less than 2 weeks away. Late spring Yellowtail weather is finally here bringing a warm water highway that is primed for a push into our local banks. If there are still any boat owners looking to put a team together, check out the ride sharing thread in the tournament forum here.

    This years event is getting back to its roots! We have a new headline sponsor, location and some great food lined up! The 2011 Typhoon Optics Yellowtail Shootout is going back to Mission Bay where the parking is free and the atmosphere is chill. Entry fees are being rolled back to year one prices. If that isn't enough, the Awards Party will be catered by a San Diego favorite, Phil's BBQ!

    The 2011 Typhoon Optics Yellowtail Shootout will kick off with the mandatory Captain's Meeting on Friday, June 24th from 6pm to 8:30pm at San Diego Boats. San Diego Boats is located right next to the Dana Landing Market on Mission Bay.

    Fishing begins on Saturday, June 25th and culminates with the "After Party" Awards Banquet on Sunday, June 26th at 11:00am. The Entry fee is $300 per team (up to 3 anglers) which includes your Tournament Entry, Official Tournament Shirt, Official Tournament Visor, After Party entry and Angler Goodie Bag. There will also be Optional Winner Take All Jackpots of $100, $300, and $500 per team. There will be cash and prize payouts for the overall biggest fish for winners:

    Place Payouts*

    1st Place - $5000 Cash + TBD Prizes

    2nd Place - $2500 Cash + TBD Prizes

    3rd Place - $1000 Cash + TBD Prizes

    4th Place - $750 Cash + TBD Prizes

    5th Place - $500 Cash + TBD Prizes

    6th Place - $300 Cash + TBD Prizes

    7th Place - $200 Cash + TBD Prizes

    8th Place - $100 Cash + TBD Prizes

    *Total Purse is based upon 100 teams participating.

    There will also be a very unique "Dash for Cash Card Prize" for the first Yellowtail brought to the Dana Landing scale by water. First Yellowtail to the dock wins, period. The lucky winning team will receive $1500 in Dana Landing gift cards!

    The "After Party" Awards Banquet will be held the day after fishing at San Diego Boats where the winners will be announced. Phils BBQ will be on hand to cater the lunch. The After Party will also have a huge raffle and Vendor Village showcasing the sponsor's products. Public is welcome at the Vendor Village.

    All Anglers will receive an Angler Bag (valued at $100+) that includes an event tee shirt, visor, and tons of other goodies.

    The tournament will be open to all anglers fishing from private boats only.
