  1. Didn't they try a Fee Based site with Rick Murphy and a few other Captains a while back? Although they hocked it on their shows and in some magazines,I never even went to the site to actually find out what it cost or had in it. Something about a fee to enter just drives people away. Everyone on the internet (including me) seems to be able to get all the information they ever wanted for free. I do buy products on line. But I get to preview a little before I spend anything. Makes the purchase a little more comfortable.
  2. Too Fast? No such thing!!! Too Cold? You Bet! Anything under 75 is too freaking cold!! My 28' best speed was 60 mph and I thought that was to slow (although all my buddies were white knuckling it). I would like to see video from another boat running next to you. That would be cool.
  3. I only see one big center console with big gas drinking engines. I bet the price of fuel is prohibitive. What are the sea's like around there? I would think it to be a short run to open water. I haven't been to Aruba but I have been through quite a few of the islands and spent some time consulting in the Grenadines. I always wanted to have my 28' Hydra Sports with me. It would have been a great boat for the area.
  4. I think I married the second one and the last one. Learned my lessons well. Never Again! Rent, don't Buy!
  5. A beautiful young New York woman was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the ocean, but just before she could throw herself from the docks, a handsome young man stopped her. "You have so much to live for," said the man. "I'm a sailor. We're off to Europe tomorrow, and I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take care of you, bring you food every day, and keep you happy." With nothing to lose, combined with the fact that she had always wanted to go to Europe, the woman accepted. That night the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a small, but comfortable, compartment in the hold. From then on, every night he would bring her three sandwiches and make love to her until dawn. Three weeks later she was discovered by the captain during a routine inspection. "What are you doing here?" asked the captain. "I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she replied. "He brings food and I get a free trip to Europe." "I see," the captain says. Her conscience got the best of her and she added, "...plus he's screwing me." "He certainly is," replied the captain. "This is the Staten Island Ferry."
  6. Do you have the motors trimmed all the way down? The pic I posted was Before the wedges were added. I was running over to Egmont Key for a day of R&R. If I remember correct the Gulf was very flat and I was running in the 50's. I can never go slow, just not in my blood!
  7. Post up when you do. You are going to be amazed at the difference. I know it was like night and day for me.
  8. Which Yamaha's did you put on? My 2800 Vector had F250's and the ride was terrible. It would bounce on me unless I put the tabs down most all the way. The tabs would create allot of drag and reduce steering something awful. I put wedges on the engines and it was a Major Miracle. The boat went from bouncing and a bunch of tab to rock solid and I only used the tabs for leveling to compensate for weight. The Yamaha four strokes do not have much (if any) negative tilt to them. The wedges compensate for that. The boat will dictate the engine height. The ventilation plate should be just at the surface of the water while running. Measure how far back from the bottom of the hull the leading edge of the engine is. If I remember correct for every foot the plate should be 1 inch above. Take a straight edge and come off the bottom of the hull and measure where the plate should be up from there. My boat ran great with the 3 blade 19 pitch salt water series props. I never tried anything else on it. They allowed me to run mid 50's and I didn't have to do any throttle work when running with the sea's.
