  1. Me too! Heck, even people that don't can pick out an AC/DC song within a few notes.
  2. LOL...it's still a great view, though!
  3. That looks good! Where are you getting the plastic? (The fish)
  4. When I saw the title of this thread I was half expecting video of Rosie O'Donnel swimming in NY Harbor....I'm glad I was wrong!
  5. I've gotten a bit addicted as well.....I started on leg 4 and finished 74,000th +-....forgot about the start on leg 5...by the time I realized it, I was 152,000th+-, but I moved up in the ranking to 62,000th+- by the time it was over. On leg 6 I am currently around 3900th, gaining every hour, and only 75 or so miles back from the lead. My boat name is "Torn Sails", which fits, because I blew out my spinnaker on leg 5....I just can't make myself pay for sail repair kits or fancy autopilots, etc.....yet.
  6. The one they have in Raleigh is a Triangle "Osprey"...A new one is $799, but the condition on this one was just OK. I'd pay for a new one & get a warranty before I'd pay $500 for this one. http://www.alltackle.com/cyclone_line_winder.htm
  7. Dang...I was going to ask how you fish off of that yacht....I guess now I know!
  8. To the OP- I would definitely talk to this guy (Ken) before you drop $800 or $1000 on props you don't need, so that when (if) you do purchase them, they are the ones that you DO need......I haven't actually purchased from him, but I did have a conversation with him where he could have easily sold me a prop that I didn't really need, but instead he determined that I already had the best prop for my application. THAT, in my opinion, is a stand-up guy....when I do need a prop, I'll definitely call him first. Ken- I hope you'll consider becoming a sponsor once Wiley opens the forums up to that....your input has helped many people on THaT other site! Edit: Oops...I see that you already got the ones Ken suggested....Oh, well...props (pun intended) to Ken.
  9. Update: I went by BW...the spooling machine they have probably isn't worth $500.
  10. It probably takes something along the lines of a Cat 3412 for a starting motor.
  11. The Raleigh store called yesterday to tell me that they had started selling fixtures....If anyone wants the reel spooling machine, they're asking $500
  12. Wiley is putting together the classified section that people have asked for....scroll down the main page. You'll see it with the tag "coming soon"
  13. Good to see you over here, Merl....I'm thinking of having the next "Panther Branch" get together at my house....I'm hoping to get offshore before then, though....The freezer is officially barren of fish!
  14. Ditto- Classy gesture, but no apology was necessary.
  15. Make sure you like it before you drill it....My boat came with a knob drilled through the wheel....I took it off after getting racked by it one too many times, and the next thing to happen was I peeled a 1/4" wide by 1" long hunk of hide off of my hand on the sharp edge of the hole.
  16. Wiley...those aren't eggs! Those are the chocolate raisins!! Happy Easter!
  17. We did...Robbie cooked up some great Mahi & Snapper, and then for good measure he made some Hushpuppies, fried Jalapenos & Pickles and I brought the cole slaw.
  18. Man, I love Alaska! A good friend of mine has a little floating bunkhouse cabin near Ketchikan...he started running a 6-pack charter out of there last year. I really need to get back up there and see him!
  19. Ok....I'm calling BS....but just so you don't die.
  20. Don't know if this will help, but I'm sure it can't hurt: Visit SaltwaterSportfish.com! You're the first banner below the flash intro.
  21. That's from a $1.99 phone app?!?!? Wow.
  22. Kingair-these are great. What program are you using for the editing?
  23. It was a "bait ball". I've never seen it in person, but I watched a show on Discovery where they had filmed it while a pod of Porpoises drove a bunch of baitfish into a ball just like you described and had a buffet. you're exactly right that balling up is a defense mechanism. (or so says Discovery)
