  1. my 2000 Johnson 115 did something very similar, only differience, it would act fuel starved at mid throttle and then die. New (ebay) power pack and was good to go. You can find one somewhat inexpensively on there. I actually bought two because of the price and keep one packed in a vacuum bag on board as a spare.
  2. I'm a fresh water guy, our lake gets anual shifts in water level around 8'. For this reason, floating is the only viable option. My personal favorite are docks that have 2 wood piles driven deep that the dock rides up and down on (go through the dock with rollers on all sides). The plank then rest on top of the dock and has a roller on the end allowing it to shift as needed. Floating docks with cable stay's rather than piles aren't bad if you don't have a ton of traffic. as long as they are adjusted from time to time.
  3. well, my favorite two places are 1) on my boat 2) on the porch at the Esso Club on a spring afternoon with a tall pitcher of beer. Porch at the Esso was my previous favorite, until I could afford a boat.
  4. the peanut posse seems to be here in force, how are things in TX?
  5. What's fishing? I thought all those rods were for slinging lead at rogue geese. really though, I took a transfer last summer to one of our upstate locations and sadly had to leave the lake behind. took up residence with my brother for the time being where I grew up. I still make it down a few times a month, but between work, house hunting, and the upcoming wedding, time has been in short supply.
